Marumi 67mm Snap on Center Pinch Lens Cap with Cap Keeper Made in Japan

I find center pinch caps much easier and faster to use than the standard side squeeze Canon caps. This cap works great and is well made albeit pricy for non-OEM. At the same time I bought a Canon OEM center pinch cap for a mere $2 more. Amazingly, the Marumi is a better cap: thinner, easier to line up and install and has a smoother pinch mechanism. I have the 67, 72 and 77mm sizes and they all worked equally well. And it's kind of nice not having a logo emblazon across the front of the cap. I'll definitely buy another Marumi next time my cap gets left on a fence post or table! This cap-keeper leash is a basic design--elastic band sewn to a nylon cord--but does the job. It's nice to have one included with the cap but ultimately I found the tangling string bothersome, a little too short and removed it. I'll be living a little more dangerously but it's good to know Amazon has an endless supply of Marumi should I need another one. I am a little surprised such a low tech item is still made in Japan, and I guess that explains the relatively high cost. Canon's OEM caps have been made in Taiwan for many years.

This lens stays on very well on a 67 mm lens. And it comes with a cap keeper, a string which keeps the lens cover from getting lost. The price is cheaper than you would pay for a camera company lens cover and a cap keeper purchased separately. So what's not to like? Well, it doesn't have your camera's brand on it if that's important to you.

I really like the quality that Marumi delivers, well made and solid unlike the other generic brands that just seem unaesthetic.

Works great, much better than the one that came with the camera. Stays on very well and covers a filter as well.
