Every one of these books provide a laugh marathon. These are relatable stories in a narrative voice that will make your ribs hurt. There are two kinds of people in the world, those who love McManus stories and psychopaths!

McManus is one of the funniest writers I know of. I discovered him way back in the 80's. All seven of us would trek up to my parents in Maine for Christmas. McManus books were a favorite gift. We'd read them aloud, laughing until we cried. Frequently the reader would just pass the book along because they were laughing too hard to read more. It elicited much, remember when stories of when we were growing up on the farm.

I bought this book (along with two others by the same author) for my brother. When he was younger and in the Boy Scouts, Patrick McManus wrote a column in the magazine they got. He was always one of my brother's favorite authors. He's needed a pick-me-up during this pandemic and school learning from home for his two boys, so got him these. The next day, he texted me the headline above.

Enjoyed and a fun tead

I had the entire McManus collection but lost all my books to a flood. I was so happy to find this one still in print! The stories are just as funny as the first time I read them.

For those of you old enough that Reader's Digest is a familiar name... excerpts from Patrick McManus' books often appeared in that tome - and what a treat it was! The stories are so zany; I'm sure they're embellished a bit (no one has a life that's THAT funny all the way through!) but you just know that there's a large grain of truth in there, too! His books are HILARIOUS!!! So glad they're available in ebook form, now. I can always have something great to read on my phone when I find myself in a 'waiting' situation and I don't want to/can't surf the net. HIGHLY recommended!

Patrick is a gem! I have been reading him for decades and it never gets old. Outdoorsmen get it as these words apply as much today as they did when originally printed. Timeless humor delivered with words that cannot help you but to visualize and then spend five minutes laughing your head off.
