Smart WiFi Fan Light Switch, In-Wall Ceiling Fan Lamp Switch Compatible with Alexa, Google Home Assistant [Voice/Remote/Touch Control] [Timer Function]

We had a separately wired fan in our bedroom that had a double switch but that shared a single box. This was the perfect setup for this. If you have a double box, you will need to be creative to install it to cover the second opening.The unit we got looked different than the pictures although the model number was the same. This one has 3 settings, low, medium and high. I set the fan to the full speed setting. On low, it rotates only 15 times a minute. Almost too slow to move any air. Medium is twice that at 30 times and also with a hum. Okay but slower than we would like. High is really too strong. It would be nice to have more granularity. Your results may vary.We already had the Smart life app so that part was easy and it controlled it right off. The instructions were misleading as to how to add it but the app is pretty forgiving if you get it close. However, we wanted to use with Alexa and originally it only had 1 device so it just turned on and off the fan. I did a search and it found both.

The application is a bit tricky to set up, but I got Alexa to work with it after a while. It is a bit larger width than a standard switch, so be prepared to house in a double width box and then add a bit of dry wall over one side of the box to allow the supplied switch plate to look and work OK. The motor hum might not be objectionable outside and could be more or less - depending on the fan that is connected. The control's buttons are is relatively bright at night and the switch's fan speed adjustment is vague/slow.

Set up is pretty straightforward and it functions fully but the app isn’t super straightforward. The switch does have a buzzing sound when it’s off. Varying the fan speed makes the motor buzz which is annoying. So adjusting the speed of the fan isn’t great.

Steer clear of this. I have bought hundreds of things through Amazon and very seldom write reviews. I'm writing the review as a warning to buyers not as a complaint. As an early adapter of technology I'm comfortable with taking the risks associated with trying new things. I expect to have to struggle with setting things up or working out kinks. This thing is just bad news though.From an installation stand point this is only practical for a single gang box that has single switch to control lights and fan motor. It won't fit in a double gang without an adapter that thankfully another reviewer posted.From a practical stand point this 2 switches being ran by one device. This makes automation a bit more tricky.I say this is 2 switches because of the way it controls motor speed. It works fine at 0% and 100% but change the speed to something else and your motor will sound like it's trying to pass a kidney stone while in labor with twins. I can't imagine the motor will last long under this kind of distress. I had the motor on high setting as suggested.Wait a year or two for something better to be developed. This isn't a fully developed product yet.

I bought two of these fan controlling switches both installing easily. One of the switches failed after only nine hours of operation. I emailed the the company (DMYCO-US) and with-in twenty fours they had replied. I was informed they were temporarily out of stock but would gladly issue a refund and I did not even have to send the defective one back to them. While a failure of 50% is not good I think the customer support shows this company has the integrity to stand behind it's products and I would not only buy from them again I would highly recommend them to friends, family or anyone else.

Installation was easy. Connecting to the Smart Life app was relatively easy.Connecting to Alexa was OK as well. Already had the Smart Life app for other devices.This switch does turn a light on and off but will not dim the light.Once we change the fan speed using the app it won't get back to 100% unless we use the physical switch buttons.Fan does hum a little, like many other fan speed control switches. Make sure pull chain speed is set to fastest speed then only change speed with the wall switch to reduce hum.The Glass switch plate does look really nice.

The setup process is fairly frustrating due to the instructions not being very clear. However, I will give credit where it is due. There was an option to get a phone call from customer service and they helped me find out how to get the light switch into pairing mode to get it working with the Smart Life app. I made sure everything was wired correctly after watching many videos online and getting help from someone with wiring know-how. However the fan speed settings still aren't regulated at the proper speeds. I already have the Hue system, so I basically upgraded to a nice looking face plate.

This is a great product pretty much performs like it supposed to. Really easy to access from your phone. The only conflicts I would mention Are It’s a little tight in the junction box. The initial set up was not as straightforward as the instructions wanted them to be. And the only other thing is there’s no control to dim the lights on the switch at night. So if you don’t like nightlights don’t get the switch
