Compared to a Tempurpedic, This mattress comes out on top. The most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. See 1 year update below:

My main goal of this review is to compare it to a brand-name Tempurpedic mattress, but first I will go through my initial impressions and setting it up. I purchased the Queen sized 12" thick mattress. When I ordered this mattress, Amazon estimated about 10 days to ship. Understandable as this package was nearly 95 pounds, however, it ended up shipping much faster (through UPS) and it was delivered within four days of ordering it.95 pounds is heavy, though. I used a hand dolly to move the package in to the bedroom. I would definitely advise a two person team to carry it. The box is about the size of a standard dishwasher unit, just a little taller, definitely larger than a mini fridge, which another reviewer compared the size to (Although he/she could have ordered a smaller size).First I built my bed frame. I went and bought some good quality plywood and cut it to size to fit in the frame to support the mattress (see photos) so that this mattress would have a totally flat and solid surface to sit on. The flat surface is IMPORTANT! Slatted or non-solid bed frames (like box springs) are NO GOOD for this mattress, and will damage it.After the frame was assembled I unboxed the mattress and lifted it in it's still compressed form on to the bed frame. The first thing you have to do to begin the decompression is remove some tight white plastic that holds the mattress in it's bale like shape. Once that is off it begins to spread out, but is still in a vacuum sealed clear plastic bag.Make sure you have the mattress positioned right side up BEFORE puncturing the vacuum sealed bag and removing it. According to the included care/setup instructions (see photos) you can use either side, but I prefer (and recommend) the white side as the sleeping surface. After puncturing the vacuum packed bag the mattress will rapidly expand. After removing the clear plastic packaging I let the mattress sit to expand. The manufacturer recommends letting the bed sit for 2-4 days to allow it to fully expand and to remove any chemical smell. I noticed only the faintest smell that actually was very tollerable, only when putting my nose directly on the bed. There is as near as makes no difference no smell as far as I am concerned.*One last important thought before I get to the comparison*I let the bed expand for about 24 hours before letting my curiosity get the best of me and giving it a test lay. During the "test lay" I was initially discouraged as I found the mattress very uncomfortable. I decided to let the mattress expand for the next three days, but was discouraged and not looking forward to going through the return process.I'm glad I waited. The mattress was much better after being allowed to expand fully, and got even better (in my opinion) for the next week while It settled in. PLEASE give the mattress it's 4 day period to expand before making judgement. I promise you it's worth it.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Okay, now the Comparison between this bed and a Tempurpedic:When I was ~ten, my parents got me a (twin sized) standard "classic" temperpedic mattress, and I've slept on that until very recently. I have a lot of experience sleeping on a tempurpedic.I'm 21 now and moving in to my first place big enough for a larger mattress. I now feel like I am too old (and tall) to sleep on a twin bed. I loved the tempurpedic, but couldn't afford another one because a comparable one to what I have costs $2,500!I dreaded the thought of sleeping on a cheap spring mattress, and all the ones I tried in my budget of $500 were awful. I considered getting one of those trendy online retail "Casper" mattresses, but I couldn't find the extra budget for their $850 queen bed. Then I found this product, and bought it immediately. It sounded a little too good to be true, at $330, but I really felt like it was worth a shot.I sleep on this mattress which is covered with a water/allergen proof protective soft cover I purchased separately. I highly recommend this to cover the mattress and protect it.On top of that, I sleep on Jersey Knit sheets. They are oh so soft and also cool (temperature wise) which is important to me.1: The one thing I always disliked about my Tempurpedic (TP from now on) is that it was a little warm for my tastes. I like to sleep cool, and sleep with a fan at my feet most of the time. One thing that I am incredibly happy about is that this mattress seems to so far sleep a little cooler than my old TP. It is still a little warm for my preference, but I'd sleep on an air conditioned mattress and still call it hot, so I think that for most people the temperature of this bed will be great.2: The biggest difference between this bed and my old TP is an improvement. I roll around in my sleep, and TP would always take around 5 seconds to "fill" the old cavity that my body had left and support my new sleeping position. With this mattress I was very surprised that the adjustment happens MUCH faster, within a second or maybe two. I really like this because it means I notice it less as I am trying to fall asleep, and it's less of a distraction.3: Like I said, I roll around a lot, and sleep on my back, sides, and front. Comfort while sleeping on my back and sides are about the same as my old TP, and I find this new bed a little more comfortable and conforming when sleeping on my front than the TP.4: This mattress is much thicker than my old TP, which I believe was 8" thick. This bed is advertised as 12" thick, but mine is about 13" thick (As an aside, make sure you get deep pocket fitted sheets). I notice that when I sit on the edge of this bed, I sink all the way down compared to my TP, but this might be because the mattress is thicker and I notice it more. I can't see this being a deal breaker to anyone though. I don't mind it at all.5: I notice that this mattress is a little springier/bouncier than my old TP. I think that is because it fills/conforms to shapes faster as I mentioned before. No memory foam will ever be as bouncy as a spring mattress, but this one is pretty bouncy for a memory foam mattress.---------------------------------------------------------------------Photos:Photo number one is the mattress out of its box but not un done at all. You can see the plywood base the mattress sits onPhoto number two is the mattress after a couple hours of expanding, it's not fully expanded yet, the unevenness goes awayPhoto number three is the mattress out of it's white plastic, but still in the vacuum sealed bag and not expanded.Photo number four is the mattress fully expanded with the fitted sheet on it.Photo number five is a scan of the care and setup instructions included with the mattress---------------------------------------------------------------------In conclusion:I can't possibly conceive how anyone would spend money on a Tempurpedic Mattress or a Casper Mattress after sleeping on this memory foam Mattress. I've never slept on a Casper, but have lots of sleep time logged on a Tempurpedic and this new mattress is infinitely better, especially when you consider that a similar Tempurpedic costs more than 7 times as much as one of these. EVEN IF these two mattresses both cost $2500, I'd prefer the non-tempurpedic, so the far smaller price tag is a bargain.I can't say enough positive things about my purchase of this mattress.----------------------------------**UPDATES**As of August 11th, 2015 (When I posted this review) I have only slept on the bed for about a week and a half. I will post updates here periodically.--------------------8/28/15: I'm almost a month in now. The bed has fully settled and I am very used to it. I am truly in love with it still.--------------------9/28/15: Still happy with the mattress.--------------------10/16/15: I am spending the weekend at my parents place, and I am sleeping on my old Tempurpedic mattress while I am here. After sleeping on my new mattress for two months, I strongly feel that it is the better mattress, over the tempurpedic. I really, really love this mattress.--------------------8/22/16 -- ONE YEAR UPDATE: So, I have at least 365 nights of sleep on this mattress now. I still am really loving this thing. It is definitely one of my favorite things that I purchased for my apartment when first moving in. The mattress has "settled" a little, meaning that the side I sleep on every night has gotten a little faster to conform to my body when I lay down at first. I particularly think this is fine, It's hard to remember exactly but I think my Tempurpedic did the same thing, and like I said, it's a hardly noticeable difference between the side I sleep on and the side that doesn't get slept on as often.5/25/18 - I still love this mattress.

Warning! I’ve gone through 2 of their mattresses in ...

Warning! I’ve gone through 2 of their mattresses in 4 years. My husband is of average height and weight and I am on the petite side. Unfortunately, there 10 year warranty is a joke. Yes they will repair/ replace mattresses but the caveat is you need to find a carrier to pick up and ship mattress back to them for inspection, leaving you sleeping on the couch or guest room. This is very costly, 3 years ago it was over $300 to ship to them and it takes about a month before you will get another mattress as a replacement. So expect to replace this mattress every couple of years. If it doesn’t start sagging and giving you backaches, it may start creating long crevasses which are very uncomfortable.

Excellent value, incredible comfort

2 YEAR UPDATE: I recently moved house and thought I would update this review to let you know that this mattress traveled beautifully. It's still in perfect shape, whereas my previous expensive Tempurpedic collapsed on one side while being on a truck for almost exactly the same amount of time and never regained its shape. This mattress is still 13" thick, still in perfect shape and my only complaint is still that it's very difficult to force myself out of my comfy nest in the mornings!3 MONTH UPDATE: The only problem with this bed is my kiddo and kittens insist on joining me too often! It hasn't changed shape at all and is still as comfortable as ever. I bought a quilted cotton mattress to deal with the warm Southeastern summer nights as well as deep pocket Amazon basic sheets and it all works together perfectly. Extremely happy with this mattress!I'm extremely cynical and I wish someone was paying me or cutting me a deal to write this but rest assured they're not. This mattress was delivered 5 days ago and I could not be more impressed.I worked at one time in the furniture business so I'm aware that foam mattresses are shipped compressed so that doesn't bother me. Exactly as it ahould, it burst out of its plastic bondage and rapidly expanded to well over 12 inches. 4 days later its over 13, and there's absolutely no smell.I also previously had a top line $2k tempurpedic so its not my first experience. This mattress does not have the fancy quilted got. It doesn't have edge guards or handles. If you want those features go up quite a few price brackets. What it does offer is virtually weightless gravity defying comfort that you will never regret paying the tiny price tag for.I suffered a nasty double stress fracture of my C2 & C3 vertebrae over 25 years ago and lived ever since with chronic level 1-3 pain. Boohoo its part of life. I'm well used to slowly clambering out of bed steadying myself with the help of the bed end and then being able to walk. I'm used to stiff sore shoulders and numb extremities that ease after about 30 minutes. This morning I was walking through my bedroom door before I realised I had not only skipped the whole steadying ritual but had less than level 1 pain.Obviously we're all different and I make no snake oil promises but I can honestly share my experience with you all out there. My 5ft 12 year old and two kittens insisted on joining me, and the state of the duvet c!early showed the whole gang barely budged the whole night. If you met my guys you'd quickly realise that highly unusual event tells you all you need to know about this mattress!
