I don’t know what kind of wizardry CeraVe put in this jar, but my skin soaks it up like it’s the juiciest neighborhood scandal. No greasy residue, no weird film—just pure, velvety absorption like my face has been waiting its whole life for this moment. It’s like a hydration pact between me and the universe.The texture is rich but not clingy, like the ideal dinner guest: present, nourishing, and gone before you feel smothered. I wake up looking less like a crypt keeper and more like someone who maybe drinks water and makes good choices.If you’re on the fence, just know this cream has earned a permanent spot in my nighttime lineup. It’s the skincare equivalent of a reliable friend who always brings snacks and never judges your questionable life decisions.

This is the absolute best face cream and I've tried LOADS.I use prescription tretinoin, azelaic acid and tri-luma (mostly for melasma). Historically, I regularly used prescription retinoids for acne. I am very familiar with having to deal with the dryness and irritation that comes with these harsher prescription face creams. CeraVe's face cream has been my go-to face cream (morning and night) for over a decade. You just can't beat the quality and the price of the product. It never makes me break out, never causes dryness or irritation (I am oily/combo), and never causes redness. It is so soothing, and I hate writing this review b/c it's often sold out when I try to buy it at the store (so I end up buying it on Amazon).Also, if you are turned off by vaseline or baby butt paste (for your face), then this is a fabulous alternative to use for face basting (or any other trend referring to thickly applying cream/lotion/paste to your face).PROS: Inexpensive, thick & creamy, lasts 4 weeks (morning and night, applied thickly), doesn't interfere or interact with prescription or expensive creams or serums (I've used it with Murad, Skinceuticals, Obagi, etc. -- all fine).CONS: Price can vary a lot based on where you purchase (I've seen it range from $13 - $26), sometimes out of stock, you'll be so depressed if they stop making it (I'll be there with you).

This night cream does the job. It feels gentle on my skin and gives it a nice boost of hydration overnight. I like that it has niacinamide and peptides — my skin feels soft and refreshed in the morning without being greasy. The texture is a little thick at first, but it absorbs well once applied. Overall, a solid night cream I can rely on.

I can barely find ground beef now at a price per pound that equates to this cream per ounce.A little goes a long way. And absorbs fast.This is not not not runny at all. It is a thick cream that has a consistency of tallow, only denser than that. For those who’ve used tallow, you’ll know that absorbs super fast and leaves skin super soft, while leaving behind a thin skin of memory that it’s been applied. This product doesn’t even leave behind the thin memory skin. It absorbs completely and almost instantly. Granted, I do not have oily or combo skin, so this could explain these personal results.Super fast absorption.See immediately above ⬆️Scent.None that is very perceptible at all. So for those sensitive to any perfumes or scented products, this is a safe bet.EffectivenessThis is not a miracle cure for aging. Your birthday will always add a year to your grand total. And every grand total brings something new to your appearance. That’s the actual math that the skincare industry tries to hide from us, when they tout how a product can reverse aging signs. No such thing, not even at a dermatology or plastic surgery office can aging be reversed. That said….This leaves skin super soft and adds a glow after a mere week or so of use. It helps plump fine lines so that those are less visible. It doesn’t lift your sagging skin, and nothing will unless you want to walk around with a chin strap all day lol. The fine lines it seems to work on best are those by the eyes and around the lip area, as well as those fine lines that appear inches above areas where gravity sets in and causes sagging. At least it helps plump out those areas, and the effect is pretty much all day — so long as you don’t add a drying agent on top, such as a high coverage foundation or face powder.Elasticity.This makes your skin feel much more elastic. And that in and of itself just makes you feel younger. Feeling younger can help you engage in more youthful behaviors and habits. And that’s what we all hope for? Feeling youthful when that birthday rolls around and reminds us that we are indeed getting older but are still above the lawn. That’s enough for a gal like me, at my looming age of fill in the blank. 😊😅TLDR: Not a magic eraser for aging, but a cream that opens a fountain of moisture and elasticity that leaves you feeling great and younger. Plumps out fine lines and adds a glow after consistently using this. And for the price, you can afford to stick with this and use it daily. This doesn’t need to be “that” jar of cream that you use sparingly (and most of us have one of those, don’t we?😉). Hesitated to buy this, but am so glad I gave it a try!!! I am using it along with tretinoin at night and it’s the perfect combo for my skin. The texture is beautiful. Sinks in nicely and is not sticky or too heavy. Just perfect level of moisture for me. I have combo skin. The packaging is sturdy. These ingredients were recommended by my esthetician. Impressive price point for such an amazing face cream. Will buy again!!!

I got this to use as an eye cream. The ingredients are similar to the CeraVe peptide eye cream, but the price is less per ounce.It is a good thickness, but not overly thick or sticky. The cream is very moisturizing and hasn't caused any milia. For reference, I have dry, sensitive skin. I would say this would also make a good face moisturizer as well.
