Initial impression is very good.
This arrived very well packed with all parts individually wrapped and all screws/spanner/allen key present.Instructions were clear enough and I found it easy to put together on my own. Care must be taken when mounting the legs as it is easy to cross-thread the screws so just take your time and start each screw a quarter turn initially to start them straight in the threads.Other than that, very straightforward to build.Comfortable to sit in but not as high as I was expecting (yes, I checked the measurements against my old chair and the advert) - lets just say that there is some 'settling' when you sit in it so it feels a bit lower. Not a huge issue though.Advert and packing refer to it as 'leather' or 'bonded leather'. I am no expert (and did not expect this to be leather at the price) but am not really sure. It is soft-feel and a good colour and feels good so no complaints there.Overall I am happy with this chair at this price - will see how well it lasts over the next few months.

Budget product
Ok, the chair is fine. You get what you pay for and at a budget price this chair is exactly that, so no issues there. The building is easy and came together easily, again no issues. Would I buy again ... NO. Would look at spending more for a higher quality, comfier chair. In saying that, my last chair was just that and had inferior parts that didn't last the time.

So comfortable!
The only quibble was the assembly which was tricky as the arm rest assembly had been put on the wrong way! But by reversing this action I was able to correct the problem. It is a very comfortable chair and at the price incredible value for money too. Love it!

Total waste of money! Avoid.
Nightmare to assemble. Main screws don't drive home when attaching backrest to the main frame and this is the strength position for weight-bearing. Diagram instructions almost useless as I can't find out if the screws are meant to drive home even after contacting the manufacturer, they avoided answering my question. Fabric rip at the arm seam and loose threads, wood scratched in various places, the filling is sparse and strawlike so hard and the fabric loosely covers it. I can only imagine what it will look like in 3 months. No lower back support at all making it the worst chair ever to sit in for posture at any position. I complained an hour after receiving this chair and they are still looking for photos of the damage that the amazon contact form won't allow me to attach. Its my worst nightmare to now have to take it apart again for return, that's if they actually honour the 12 month warrantee at all.My advice, avoid this chair it's rubbish. If it was viewable in a store I wouldn't even stop to look at it.Update: Amazon took up my complaint and refunded me as the sellers were vague and unhelpful. Thank you Amazon!

Value for money.
Assembly went well until it came to mounting the heavy, and difficult to grasp backrest onto its swivel bolts. Being an ex-toolmaker, I managed to do this on my own, but I do agree with the reviewer who says it’s a two person job.If you do attempt this on your own, or even with assistance to help with alignment, and to prevent the bane of cross threads, try removing one of the L -section steel bars that you will have already fitted, and loosen the other. In my case, I ground a lead on the bolts to help with not cross-threading them, but not everyone will be able to do this. Also, the holding mechanism of the swivel action seems insecure without what seems to me to need excessive tightening to hold the back in place, and might not last long if constantly re-adjusted. If so wished, the seat can be permanently set to personal preference of recline, by fitting a one-inch diameter jubilee clip to the part that telescopes. Jubilee clips are readily available from most outlets that supply spare parts for cars.If nit-picking, I could add that an extension Allen key, plus a spanner for the lock nuts (Only tighten these to the point where a few threads appear past the lock, and no more!), would have sped up the job of assembly. All other problems to one side, I am pleased with my chair, it’s reasonably priced and exceptionally comfortable.

Brilliant value and a doddle to put together (but the instructions need changing)
We bought this after being let down by a shopping channel - we ordered the chair on a Tuesday and it was delivered on Thursday by DPDIt took me a leisurely hour and a half to put the chair together - all the tools you'll need are included, but the instructions (there's a picture of them in this review) need changing as from step 5 to step 6, both the seat base and back are pictured in the instructions. What I did was to attach just the back to the assembly so far. Then recline the back and put the seat base on. Screw the screws and bolts which secure the base and back loosely through the relevant holes, then move the seat back into a more normal position, at which point you can tighten the screws and bolts properly. You'll find that you have a spare 'long' screw and bolt left over at the end - this is to attach the front of the seat to the swivelling base (the bit you put a hand screw in at step 5.Sorry for the overly long waffle, but honestly, this is a great chair and is much sturdier than I'd have imagined for the price.
