Holds a good portion, sturdy, easy to clean, lid easy to use, good price
I've been using these Prep Naturals 24oz containers for just over a month now. My plastic containers were years old, and it was time to phase them out, so I switched to glass. I also use Anchor Hocking and Pyrex. I like these better so far, because I really like the lids. They are leakproof in fridge, freezer, and travel.I was very cautious at first handling these, but I haven't had any chips or breakage traveling about with them, or washing up. I washed the lids by hand, until one went through the dishwasher...with no ill effects. Now they are all going on the top rack, no problems. When you look at them they seem small, but they will hold a good plateful of food. I've made cold and hot lunches in them, put them in the oven, microwave, fridge, freezer. I don't go right from cold to hot. If a meal is frozen, I bring it from freezer to fridge overnight. Then they go in an insulated lunchbag, and by lunchtime the chill of the fridge is off. If I pull right from the fridge, I just cook at 50% power first, then at 100% power til hot through. I don't think my husband is this cautious though, and he hasn't broken any, so they are probably sturdier than I think.Other reviewers have complained the lids are hard to use, and I just haven't had that experience. Do you have to align the lid to the container before you start snapping the clasps? Yes, but it's really not hard. Place the lid over the glass, snap clasps on two opposing sides, then the second set. If the lid is out of alignment you will immediately know and can adjust.

Best portion control!
I am in the process of slowly replacing all of my unmatched, stained, cracked plastic containers that I use to bring my lunch to work every day. I wanted glass containers so I could safely clean in the dishwasher - I am wary of washing plastic in the dishwasher and didn't want even more items to hand wash. These are fantastic!First, they are extremely leak proof. It's pretty easy to get these lids on "correctly". If you don't have the lid on right, as you start to push each of the four sides down, it won't work so it's obviously you need to adjust and retry. I have carried soup in these sideways in my lunch bag and have not had a leak.Second (but most exciting) is the portion size. When I first got these I thought I made a mistake because they appear very small - too small to fill me up for lunch. I was wrong again! I make a lot of fresh salads for lunch - spinach, carrots, cucumbers, broccoli, onion, bell pepper, shredded cheese and some type of protein (egg, meat, etc.). I thought "NO WAY can I fit enough of the salad in these containers to satisfy my hunger at lunch". Most days I am not able to finish the salad. I have no idea what magic makes that possible.Third - these are easy to clean. Sometimes I put them in the dishwasher and sometimes I hand wash them. They clean up very well - even the food that might get stuck underneath the white plastic seal on the lid. Once I thought I stained the plastic portion of the lid with tomato sauce, but I took the white plastic seal out and soaked the lid in hot soapy dishwater and it looks brand new.Fourth - they stack very well in the cabinet. I usually have to store my lunch containers in the pantry because they are oddly sized but I can stack these five high in two columns inside a regular cabinet and they are perfect.I love these containers - am glad I purchased them - and might look into some other sizes available from this manufacturer. I will never go back to plastic again.

Great Product! Review After Over 1 Year of Use
The media could not be loaded. I bought them back in February of 2020. They've done their job well. You do have to put a tiny bit of thought into it when putting the lids on: they take a decent amount of force (thus the "airtight" quality) and make sure the lid is lined up with the glass container when you do so. I normally close opposite sides together, turn it and finish off closing the other opposite sides at the same time (to make it easier/faster) You'll hear and feel it "latch" to the container, but it will take a bit of strength to do so. Once it's done, you won't have to worry about it opening up again, until you do so intentionally. The process only takes a few seconds, by the way.Note: the guy in the video with the 1-star review is not doing it properly, at least as far as I can tell.My only complaint is that I wish the company made a bigger (like 60 oz or more) version, for those big meals that you have to store away.I am actually planning on buying another set, because in the process of handwashing some of them (we mostly dish wash them, though (lids on the top rack, don't forget), my mom has dropped many of them on the floor and has been slowly breaking them one by one. Yes, the glass is strong. But glass is glass and will break if dropped onto the floor while doing dishes (especially if done several times...I think we need grippier dishwashing gloves)...no matter what kind of glass you buy. That being said, as with anything you buy, as long as you try not to bang it around or drop it, it should be fine. The more care you treat something with, the longer it lasts.Lastly, it is possible some of the negative reviews are people that got defective ones (there are bound to be a few with any product in production), but if you get a normal one and use it properly, you should be good.Edit from December 2024: still think they are a good product. As you can see in the video, this smaller version closes slightly more easily than the bigger option.Unfortunately, most of the ones I originally bought broke due to user error (were accidentally dropped into the sink and onto the kitchen floor several times while handwashing them by various family members). So, I guess my one pro tip would be to keep a good grip on it when handwashing and tell anyone else who volunteers to wash them to be careful. Still a great product that has lasted the test of time overall.
