I didn't intend to buy this...Neither did anyone else in the house. It just popped up in my cart and my wife thought "Oh, I guess he wants a hat." Turns out when I gave my mom a phone three months ago she never logged into her own account and was trying to buy this for my dad. Mine, now.The material seems pretty solid. The brim is absolutely huge and kept the sun off my neck while I was outside today. I like the netting on the sides of the hat, too. Kept my head nice and cool. Also, I have a massive head and the hat fit just fine. It is also adjustable with some elastic in the back. The thing even has a chin strap for windy days.I'm actually kinda happy we got this.TLDR - My wife got me a hat I didn't want, and it's actually really comfortable and I'm keeping it.

Okay. So I bought this hat in anticipation for a new job that I was taking. I started working construction in California. What that means in English is that I am working outdoors in 100+ degree weather, with heavy steel toe boots on.I needed a hat to keep the sun out of my face. I did not want a cowboy hat. I did not want a straw hat. I did not want a baseball cap. I wanted something neutral and functional.This hat has exceeded my expectations to the point where I am writing a review. I am doing so without compensation, without being asked, without anything other then the fact that this hat has SAVED me from the sun.Now. The back rim does not completely cover my neck. The side rim does not necessarily work for guarding against the sun while driving. However, it stays on well, is fairly comfortable (and I am talking many, MANY hours of wearing this thing), and dries quickly from wetness (um, sweat, I sweat a LOT.)I will go so far as to say, I will likely purchase a spare. This will show how important this thing has become to me as a "tools of the trade." I live in fear that I will lose this thing. I FEEL it when I am working outdoors and do not have it. I will take it with me "just in case." So yeah. I'm buying another.

I was not sure about this hat when it arrived, but when I realized you can adjust the band around your head I now wear it everywhere. Dog park, farmers market, doing chores, you forget you have it on and it keeps the sun off. Really like it!

My son hat was delivered quickly. I am extremely satisfied with the weight and feel of this hat. It is lightweight and it feels very sturdy. It’s wide and will keep the sun off of my face. It is a great price and offers sun protection up to 50 SPF. I can’t wait to try it out. I ordered a dark grey hat.

Wow! What a nice hat. With its 3.75 inch brim, this hat keeps he sun off not only my face, but my neck too. This is a huge deal, because I don't need to put sunscreen on those areas. The brim is semi-rigid, which means its not floppy, but the hat can be folded over if necessary (there is a hem on both sides of the brim which is there for that purpose). The other thing neat about this hat is that the top of the hat not only has the obvious side vents, but the fabric used for the top. The top fabric is almost sheer--but you cannot tell from the photos--which increases the cooling effect. This is the perfect hat if you are going to be in the sun for any length of time. The hat is 100 polyester, and was made in China. I plan to by at least one more to keep in my car.

This is a great hat! Light weight and wide brim will keep the sun off.

I bought one each for my husband and I. It says its for men, but it fit just fine on my head so YMMV. The hat is designed to fold which makes it easy to travel with (or shove in your purse). The mesh venting on top really helps keep your head cool, there is a tension cord in the hat lining to make it fit tighter or looser around your head, and the chin strap will keep it in place in case of windy conditions (with the extra wide brim, you will get a lot of lift even with a gentle breeze!) Overall we are both very pleased with these hats. Maybe we look a little dorky, especially since we're only in our 30's, but being protected from the skin-aging and cancer-inducing rays of the sun is worth looking a little less than cool. The joke will be on everyone else when we still look good in our 50's!!!

Love the hat! The brim is flexible, but not flimsy.The sun protection is there from both the SPF and the width of the hat itself.My only gripe would be that it is a bit tight on my head at the opening. I don't blame the hat for this, as every head is sized and shaped differently, but if you have a larger head, be aware that this "might" not fit you well if you like a looser fitting hat.The reason that I bring this up, is that you have an adjustable chin strap / cord (whatever it's called) that should keep the hat on your head if it was a looser fit.Great hat!!!

First, it looks even better in person than in the pictures.This is a really, really good summer hat. I'm actually going to buy another one so I have one for days out and one for gardening. The brim is the perfect size in that it's just large enough to protect your neck and face from the sun, but not so large as to look ridiculous. It feels secure when on even in a stiff breeze and has to be the most breathable hat I've ever worn in my life. I still wore sun cream on my scalp as I wasn't prepared to risk its claims about UV protection so I can't comment on that, but with that said I can't sing its praises highly enough.

As a young guy, well endowed in the cranial department, I always struggled to find a fishing hat which did not seem out of place on the top of my head.I can only enthusiastically report that the hat fits my 60cm head very well and doesn't actually make me look too bad! A victory of substance over style!The hat is well built and seems like it will last.The hat also fits my dad - an even more impressive skull at 61.5cm.

I dont normally wear hats, but with the temperature regularly topping 30 degrees this summer, I though it was time to get some sun protection.I had been looking at the famous Tilley safari hats, but at £70, they are hugely overpriced compared to this Einskey, which does the same job.I also think this hat has superior breathability, with its large mesh panels each side.All the stitching was perfectly finished, and the adjustment fittings worked easily.Unlike the Tilley, this is a one size fits all(sort of).My hat size is a large 7 3/4, and this feels like the comfortable limit of this hat, at its fullest adjustment.Despite its wide brim, this hat folds neatly in half, into a surprisingly neat package.The under chin drawstrings, prevent any chance of losing this hat in a wind, as the wide brim does act like a kite at times.My only criticism is that at 100% polyester, cotton might be more comfortable, but this does give the Einskey shower resistance.

When grading the fit of the item, I selected "fit as expected" option, which is true, but it is important to keep in mind that this item is adjustable, so even if your head is slightly smaller than the diameter or circumference of the head slot of the hat, it can be tightened with a drawstring, which is also very helpful in windy conditions.

Great hat for hot summers, actually functional in keeping the sun away from eyes and face so you don't get burned into a steak. It seems most sun hats are short brimmed and mostly decorative so this was a good find!The brim is also solid so it doesn't wobble which is w big plus.

Hat arrived today. First impression looks good. Fits well. Wide brim, should stop my neck burning. Price was reasonable. This hat is my second choice, really wanted a "Seattle Sombrero" but I refused to pay the £60 asking price. At just over £10 this hat is much better value and should last for a long time. Pleased with my purchase, it will even fold in half to fit inside my day pack.

I purchased this for my son to wear whist fishing, he loves it as it folds up nicely in his backpack and let's his head breathe when he wears it. It's beautifully designed and is made to very high standards using top quality fabrics. There are adjusters ensuring an excellent fit on his head, is waterproof which means that he can continue wearing it during a quick downpour. The brim is a nice width and keeps the sun out of his eyes, there is also a strap to pull right under his chin so that the hat doesn't blow off.

Excellent sun hat. Light-weight with a stiff brim and folds flat for packing. Most ladies' sun hats are too small for my 61 cm head - the elasticated adjuster around the crown means that this hat fits perfectly. Looks good on and I think is very good quality for this price.

got as a gardening hat for SPain but and I wear it all the time. If you want shade off face and neck, why much about - use this and be completely covered. Good fit as expected. adjustment, strap. Even had on boat on not too windy days. Great value and packs in half for rucksack. The mesh at sides doesn't seem to let any sun in. Great buy.

I took this hat along on an ultra that had sun, rain, wind and hail - it was superb! Kept the sun off my face and neck, kept the rain from running down my neck and when the hail was coming sideways across the moors, it flapped down to protect me. The chin strap kept it firmly in place in the wind. Will be the first thing on my kit list for my next long run!Don't be put off by the relatively small sizing - there is plenty of space for a big head, and it is nicely customisable with the bungie thing.Love this hat!

Nach dem ersten Aufsetzen dachte ich ans Umtauschen. Ich wurde mit Stirnrunzeln und Gelächter betrachtet als ich den Hut vorführte. Die Krempe sei viel zu breit und das Gesicht würde unter dem Hut fast verschwinden. Ich habe ihn behalten und bin dafür in der afrikanischen Sonne belohnt worden. Allerdings erregte er auch dort anfangs Aufsehen, später wurde ich um ihn aber eher beneidet.Der Hut ist angenehm zu tragen und hat eine einstellbare Schlaufe, die ihn bei Wind gut auf dem Kopf hält. Die großen seitlichen Belüftungsöffnungen verhindern den Hitzestau in der heißen Sonne. Während andere durch Sonnencreme verschmierte Brillen sehbehindert waren, hatte ich den benötigten Sonnenschutz durch die breite Krempe und dazu klare Sicht. Braucht man den Hut mal nicht, schiebt man ihm an der Schlaufe hängend ins Genick oder rollt ihn zusammen und steckt ihn in die Tasche. So robust wie er gearbeitet ist, macht ihm des nichts.Der Hut hat einen großen praktischen Nutzen, ist leicht und robust und ist nach meiner Erfahrung sehr empfehlenswert!

Tried my hat this weekend. 30° + heat. Other hats, foamed a sweat band around the top. Not this one. Kept my head shaded nicely. The vent kept me from overheating. Very comfortable. Was great. Have had a number of hats in past. This is the best...would buy a second

Excellent hat. Does what it says. Highly recommended.

If your like me with blonde hair and fair skin and burn within 5 mins then this hat is a God send. It covers my face and neck and so far I have not burnt yet. It fits well and keeps me covered when the UV is high. You may not look the most fashionable in it but I care more about not getting burnt.

This is a great breathable tropic weight hat. The brim is nice and wide which keeps the sun off my face and neck. Much better ventilation than the standard Boonie hat. Size adjustment is via a draw cord at the base of the crown which should accommodate most sizes (I'm a size 58).
