Pinewood Lappland Extrem Functional Jacket

This pinewood jacket is solid & durable and as with all pinewood gear, good quality BUT i sent it back based on a few little niggles.. there are no side hand warmer pockets just the front two & the two deep chest pockets which are not as accessible as say two vertical pockets situated closer together by the front zip would be. Another drawback is when the front zip is done all the way up there is no coverage right up to the neck and chin, the jacket sits below the chin and on cold, wet days you really need some facial protection. Personally i prefer the features, pockets and protection from my trusty old craghoppers kiwi jacket.. even though it is only polyester and not quite as comfy feeling as this pinewood being made up of cotton & polyester. So to summarise a heavy, durable well made jacket but for me didn't tick enough boxes and iv got enough pinewood jackets anyway...

Great quality well made waterproof jacket. Well thought out design with storm flaps, detachable hood and high collar. The outer layer feels a bit like very close weave cotton. However, and this is why it gets only 4 stars, it isn't what I was expecting. This is essentially an outer shell jacket, it's lined but not insulated. With a name like Lappland Extreme I was expecting a cold weather jacket or at least one with some kind of thermal insulation. I would, for the sake of clarity, call this Lappland Extreme "summer edition" if I worked for the Pinewood jackets naming department. The name is a bit misleading. In all honesty it would have gone back to Amazon if it wasn't bought with a decent discount applied. Anyway, for a non insulated jacket it's really pretty good. It's outdoorsy looking but not to the extent where it looks out of place on someone not wearing muddy boots, riding a horse or carrying a shotgun. I can't imagine people on the train seeing me wearing it are thinking my bag is likely to be full of bits of dead animals or anything like that. Anyway, if you want a non inslulated outdoorsy looking well designed waterproof jacket, you can do a lot worse than get one of these.

Purchased this Jacket back in March 2015 after reading the Reviews on several websites. At first I thought it was a brilliant jacket but it's now November 2015 and though I've followed the garments washing/reproofing instructions, I personally don't think it's worth the £103 I paid for it. Rainwater soaks into all 4 pockets on the outside. On both the sleeves from the elbows down to the cuffs again the rain just soaks right through the material. Also getting the same problem all around the hem of the jacket, especially in the front of the jacket. I definitely would not recommend this jacket to anyone.

I am 178 cm tall and I first ordered size XL. It felt a bit large so I purchased another one size L. It fits fine with thin fleece under it. For winter use I kept larger one too to wear my Norwegian pullower under it. Jacket keeps rain and wind away. Enough pocket though inside pockets should be larger for mobile and wallet. Fabric does not make any fanny noises when You walk and it feels comfortable even when zipper is fully closed. I bougth two of these and I am pleased.

I've owned and liked an earlier Pinewood jacket this is similar and actually better in all but one respect. On this model Pinewood have replaced the zip that holds the hood on the earlier model with press studs. Bad bad idea. I have already come close to losing the hood as it comes away far to easily. The zip was far more secure.Other than that a great outdoor jacket and great value.

Fits perfect, quick deliver, waterproof?? since I have this jacket (6 weeks) I have seen no rain.

Arrived quickly, but it was too big. However, the exchange procedure was so easy to use, and the replacement arrived the day after I returned the original! Good quality, and just waiting for a downpour to try it out!!

Perfect for on the beach! Keeps the wind and rain out.
