Works Great

Works great even after 3 years of purchase. Only thing you have to remember is the temperature is displayed in Celsius so you have to convert to Fahrenheit to have the correct temperature. Simple and easy to set up and use.

Good deal, saved me time doing one in arduino etc.

Used for my lead melter bullet casting kit. Once set up right (it insists on "learning the automatic constants" first - it works really well despite some horrible intermittent load changes (dump more cold alloy into the melter for casting). One of the hookups seems to give you degrees in F (the extra jumper at the TC wiring), but I just kept it C. A little overshoot sometimes - when hit hard with too much load and perhaps imperfect sensor placement, but way better than I need for this. It can be hard to get the buttons pressed behind the label - I just peeled it back to set mine up and then pushed the plastic membrane back over the adhesive.

Great PID, Low price

This PID works well and I've had no issues once wired and programmed. We use it for a 55 gallon drum mushroom substrate sterilizer which runs on 24h cycles. Its wired to a 1650w heating element and kept at 216 Farenheit.Things to consider:- Use a colling fan. The heatsink gets very hot pulling 15a.- This is not a pull from the package and go. There's a lot to know about wiring and PID programming. Do your research prior.- Use the correct gauge wires and terminals for the amount of amps you will be pulling. Watts/volts=amps. Eg. 1650/110=15.

Extremely slow temperature sensing.

The temperature sensing is so slow on this PID that it literally takes about 15 minutes for the thermocouple probe to read correctly and then the PID to control the temperature. Once the temperature is sensed correctly, the PID does a good job of maintaining it. I was using it to control an oven and due to the slow sensing, the oven would max out it's temperature before the PID ever realized it and shut off power to the oven. I'd set the PID at 250F and the oven would reach almost 600F before the PID would catch up and shut off the power...then the oven would have to slowly cool back down to 250f before the PID would become useful and control the temp. I swapped thermocouples and reached out to their customer service reps several times, apparently this is normal behavior according to them. Their only advice was to buy a different (more expensive) model if this one didn't meet my needs. I returned this- it doesn't meet my needs.

Nice little pid

Nice little pid. The dimensions were wrong when I purchased. May still be and it was smaller more compact which I was fine with although I could've went with a smaller build box had I known. It's longest point is approx 4" and it's approx 2"x2" at the face. Works well.

High quality product

Everything works, materials are great, and the wiring schematic is drawn on the side of the PID controller.

Parameter setting

This set up works and is likely a good value, but programming is a nightmare and verey time consuming. set points are at 9999 and you can only change about 2 degrees per second, does not scroll faster the longer you hold button. I found it a horrible waste of my time and that is why i give one star. I would not buy again or recommend
