I’ve had this amazing little compact cart since 2017. Initially, I’d put a total of 450 pounds of gear on this cart regularly, now my gear is more condensed, weighing in at around 220 pounds, despite the wear and tear, it’s still going strong. My typical gear used to be two 45 pound speakers, a 90 pound subwoofer, a DJ Deck flight case, as well as a live sound mixer in a flight case, a four panel DJ Facade, two hydraulic lift stages and a set of moving LED lights. After a few years of DJing with this setup, my gear became far more condensed due to increased back pain from an accident. My current gear consists of an EV Evolve 50m and an Evolve 50, a two panel DJ Facade, and a lightweight Numark MixTrack Platinum FX in a matching flight case, which is used in place of my far heavier, more professional Numark NV 2 that’s in a much larger flight case. My live sound mixer only goes out on Karaoke nights, while my lighter gear is used for weddings and DJ nights. Regardless of what’s on here, this cart is rugged and convenient, especially when it’s folded up into my Nissan Murano LE where all of my gear fits into the trunk with one of the seats down in a streamlined Tetris like configuration that still allows me to see out of the Murano’s narrow back window.This cart only gave me one issue since 2017 which is difficult to fault it for, hence my 5 star review. The front right wheel of the cart hit a slight crack in a cement sidewalk, given the highly uneven weight distribution, the front left castor wheel came off, spilling out tiny metal beads which are used to keep the smooth wheel rotations on track. One of my best friends went to Home Depot with my cart while I was DJing a wedding, and he essentially replaced the wheel with a gray castor wheel that’s the exact same size as the original yellow one. As noted, aside from this incident that’s a fault of the cracked concrete sidewalk, this cart has been one of my most indispensable DJ tools since 2017. I also purchased the official carpeted wooden plank add-on, which added far more use to this amazing little cart, since it doubles as a way to bring groceries into my apartment. The trip upstairs would be difficult without this cart given that I’m in a permanent garage parking spot that’s fairly far away from the ramp to the building’s elevator, and then my apartment is the last one at the end of a long hallway. All in all, this cart paid itself off after my first DJ event, cutting my pack up times in half by reducing the amount of trips down to two.If you DJ, you need this cart as a part of your set of indispensable DJ tools.

I have owned the Rock-N-Roller R2RT cart for 9 years now. It still works great, has never failed to do what I ask of it, and it still looks great too. Well built, and quite capable. It rolls well on many different surfaces, including grassy areas. Not an off-road cart by any means, but if it is a reasonable surface, this cart can handle it, and do it well.

I purchased this to replace an older version called the R2 Micro that I purchased in February 2015. I was performing 24 plus gigs a month back then, and used it on over 1500 gigs to date. I could probably get another year out of it, but decided to retire it in favor of this one. The point I am conveying is these things are built to last. If you are a weekend warrior playing 100 or so gigs per year, you could probably expect fifteen or more years service from one.There are very minor differences between my R2 micro and this R2RT Micro (aside from the color.) The main construction looks nearly identical. The cable on this one looks a little thicker, but the wheels, channels and even the weld points look the same. Of course I did not examine or measure the differences in detail - I went by eyeball.One thing that stood out is this new one is stiffer and takes some effort to extend the handles. I recall having the same challenges with the original one, so I am chalking that up to a need to break it in. That beings me to another point still fresh in memory from six years ago - until it breaks in and extends smoothly you can get a nasty pinch on a finger, which happened to me on the first one that I owned. Give it a month of use (assuming that you will use it about eight times a month) and it will begin opening and extending smoothly. Especially the cable. Out of the box after the easy assembly you may have to jiggle the handles as you extend the cable to get them to open into the full position.Overall this is built like a tank. This is also my preferred size because I typically gig with just a bass drum, snare drum, hi-hats and ride cymbal. I also own an R8RT that has seem virtually no use because it's overkill for my purposes. As for the old R2 Micro that I replaced I am gifting that to a fellow musician who will probably appreciate it as much as I did when I first purchased it.
