Works! Do not follow Adafruit instructions to the tee!!!

First the device is a 3.3V one and not fully Arduino plug and play... Second the wire colors do not match the Adafruit tutorials found out there on the internet... the board pins are well labeled and should be used in lieue of the wire colors... purple is +3.3V (not red), blue is GND (not black), orange is TX, and white is RX. I used a 2/3 resistor voltage divider made of 3 1.5Kohm resistors to drop the voltage down on pio 4 of the Arduino output and connected the purple wire to the +3.3V in lieue of the 5V of the Arduino. The Adafruit library works flawlessly... Some tutorials have you change the SoftwareSerial to use pio 10 and 11, but for this device use the defaults... pio 2 and 3. Cheers! YB.

It works!

Good functioning fingerprint reader works and function no problem. Greenlight. Works directly with the adafruit library. I am using it with ESP32 and ESP8266 on Arduino IDE.

Reliability

Unreliable. It works for the first try then it seems to just cause shorts. I had to order this two times because the first one was fried and same with the second one. Dont recommend!
