This second one is pretty good.
This was my second purchase of the lyre. The first one arrived with a large crack in the instrument, making it completely unplayable. The second is fine. It took several days for the tuning to stabilize, but now is much better. The lyre itself is very attractive and it sounds very nice indeed.

great beginners instrument and great instrument in general
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. i receive my lyre 2 weeks ago in pristine condition, i unpack it try it out nice tone and nice woodsy smell if that from the mahogany wood it was construction from. i choose the ocarina winds lyre because of the price and the enclose soundbox and the design motif the fact what was included in with lyre extra strings the cloth and manual. the reason i gave 4 stars two reasons first was the cheap strings i prefer roosebeck strings or other quality strings i'm a stickler come to my music instructments second reason is some of the string pins was too far out for my liking i screw them more sorry . its personality quirk beyond that its very nice instrument reason i brought it to play the house of the rising sun i needed a lyre with a bigger range than ten 10 notes. please understand im some what hash because i built 3 6 string anglo saxon lyres from solid oak hand sawed sanded built, the last one was magnum opus i was exacting forgive me. the video is me playing the lyre song house of the rising sun

A Peaceful Addition to My Day
I love this little lyre. I stayed on top of the tuning several times a day for the first day and a half and haven't had to tune it since (most strings instruments are like that in the beginning). I tried to play it two handed at first, one behind and one in front, but I couldn't figure out how to stabilize the instrument while doing so. In the end I support it with my left hand and play with my right. The names of the notes are crafted into the instrument above the tuning pegs, so it is very easy to know where you are. The lowest note is G, but I play in C since there is not an F# in the scale, though I could tune it that way if I were performing with it. It is like finger-styling on a guitar or plucking a harp, or a little of both. Harmonizing is easy to do, even with one hand. It feels very satisfying to play. I am telling people about this little instrument! And yes, I would buy it again. =)

Absolutely beautiful
I love this so much. It has such a beautiful sound and craftsmanship, honestly it looks so much better than the pictures. I tuned it to Gm as well, it's just so hauntingly beautiful. 10/10 would buy again.

Very hard to tune, cute enough to keep
Very hard to tune, the knobs are very sensitive. The look is not the same as the picture, the wood color is better but there is a gold plate instead of the eyelets for the strings to come through, which I do not like. Three strings broke while tuning meaning they have sat on the instrument for a long time in a shop or such. It is probably the samish quality of the others flooding the market so *shrug* just don't expect it to look the same or be easy.
