Sure, you can try to eyeball your cake slices which I've been doing but they never come out right. You have one person that gets a littler piece than another person so I wanted a cake divider to fix that. It's so easy to use too, just put it on the top middle of your cake and there's the measurements on the disk. There's a little metal stem in the middle to hold it in place. I received this cake divider at a discount for an honest review. I used it on a pumpkin pie tonight so you can use it for more than just cake. It's a great handy gadget that will keep the kids from saying "why did he/she get more than me".
