Q: is the hook/plastic fire resistant?

No they will melt or burn if exposed to fire, however I have installed some near (but NOT directly above) my stove for hanging measuring spoons and oven mitts and they are fine. I also use them in the shower for hanging body pouff, and so far the heat and steam from the shower has not affected them.

For Best results the command hooks should be hung on walls and with constant movement and light tugging I would not recommend.
