Hello, Yes, it was black. Nothing shows on our silver suv but the longhorn. Looks awesome 👏 and no issues with it moving since it was placed on the vehicle.

Q: Will the adhesive take off the paint when it is removed?

It shouldn't if you use Automotive Goof-Off and the tip of a plastic spoon. Try not to spread too much of the Goof-Off, just keep a paper towel handy. I used YouTube for instructions. Can I ask why you would remove such an awesome decal after applying it?! 😀😉
