Good, relatively simple puzzle, though center side cover fell off
This is not technically a Rubik's product, so that name shouldn't really be on the description -- the name "Rubik" certainly doesn't appear anywhere on the product or its box. The gear cube is an interesting puzzle that looks something like a 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube but isn't one.The edge pieces cannot be directly moved, because they aren't directly attached to the cube but rather to the pieces around them. Instead, they move when you rotate the faces, and they don't just move with the cube; they also rotate on their own separate axes. Yes, the center slice of each face in all directions is attached to both adjacent faces via gears, meaning that the center slice rotates at half the rate as the attached face, and at the same time, the attached edge pieces rotate out of place at yet another rate. Rotating a face by 90 degrees leaves the puzzle in an intermediate state that cannot be moved further; a 180 degree rotation is necessary, and this always causes the attached center slice to rotate by 90 degrees at the same time. The motion of this puzzle is hard to describe in words -- it's not actually as complicated as it sounds. This puzzle is actually considerably easier to solve than a 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube due to the fact that there are far more linkages between the parts, reducing the number of possible mathematical states. It's still fun, though. However, when I took mine out of its box, I discovered that the yellow face's center cap was detached, and nothing I do will cause it to snap into place and stay there. All the other face's center caps are firmly in place, but not that one. It doesn't really detract from solving the puzzle (the one without the center cap is the yellow one), and there's no way I can know how common this problem is, but I had to mention it. This is the reason why this review has 4 stars. The puzzle also came with a nice black fabric drawstring bag. This, by the way, will prevent the yellow center cap from becoming lost, keeping it with the puzzle until I can find a good way to reattach it.

A lot of phone and amazing looking
I have 8 different kinds of rubiks cubes. From 2x2 to 6x6 and more, but this one just really looks and feels unique. You can spin this in the same direction 16 turns before it gets back into the original position. The gears actually turn and spin. I highly recommend!!

Toy For The Collector
The Gear Cube is definitely a great little puzzle, difficulty rating 2/5 for an experienced cube solver. The cube actually turns pretty well actually, it doesn’t feel right and like it’s unable to move however there are a few times when it won’t move when you’re moving it but just loosen the grip on the cube and retry the movement. 4/5 would recommend as a gift, 5/5 would recommend a gift for personal. Also definitely a great conversation starter and was able to amuse people.

I Didn't Have Expectations
I didn't have any expectations going into this I just like twisty puzzles and this one has extra twists while you twist. My only complaint is it can be pretty crunchy feeling and picky about when it turns. This is a super simple twisty not like any other especially the normal 3x3. I would recommend it if you just like cubes and want something different to add to your collection.

Stickerless
Thus cube does not look like the picture. It’s actually stickerless and the colors are printed on the plastic. The problem with that is the colors are pretty dark. You’re gonna need good lighting to solve it. Moves pretty well. Not fast thought.

Cube
It was a gift. As far as I know, my grandson enjoyed it. It wasn't as much of a challenge for him as I thought it would be.

fun to solve
I love it, it is simple to solve and kinda makes me feel smart lol. However, one of the middle things does tend to fall off, but it isn't a big deal. you just kinda stick it back on.

Center pieces fall out
Love the concept. Turning it is fun for a while but the center pieces keep falling out and turning it is a bit too hard.
