I wasn't sure on these when purchased, but so glad I did. They made install a breeze and was a snug fit. Also they make replacing batteries so much easier. My new fav.

Holds well, super easy to use. Recommended.
These are working great for me. I've got 6 smoke detectors, 5 of them using this mount. They're plenty strong to hold them and the 3m tape is great - if you attach it correctly (yes, there's a way besides just slapping it on your roof). To attach, clean the area you plan to stick the metal base to your wall or ceiling, I used alcohol wipes. Let dry, then press the 3m adhesive against that spot and press and keep pressing it there for 10-15 seconds. Apply pressure to all parts of the metal base making sure the tape is firmly pressed against the wall/ceiling. Done.Not one of these has separated from the ceiling or wall they're mounted on. Very very easy to use, very strong magnets. These are great and I'll be getting more.Why 4 stars? I did remove one to reposition it. The string 3m tape took a round patch of paint off with it, but I guess you can't have such strong adhesion and easy removal both.

Easy to use.
I own an 1898 house with high plaster ceilings. I wish I had this 20 years ago. It is so simple to use.

No holes in the wall required
Where have these been all my life! I needed to add extra smoke detectors to get our home up to standards for sale. This was SO much easier than putting holes in the wall.

Falls off
Falls off after sometime , better use the plastic bracket for fire alarms and not risk it falling off

Do Not Last
I really loved these at first. They are so simple to install. It seems they are too good to be true, though. After about a month, several of my smoke alarms have fallen down, and another is close to falling down. Very disappointing. I should’ve listened to the other reviews that had the same problem.
