We use these at the end of each session. The assumption being, "these are the highlights and revelations that came about as the characters chatted while travelling or camping". Rather than being a formal, "my character asks your character [this]..."They give lovely off-the-wall insights. They make you answer questions that you'd never normally even think to ask. Kind of 'soft' character development. I highly recommend them - they have become a beaut little ritual at the end of the session.Oh, and they are SUPER sturdy. Really thick card and very durable.

High-quality cards with a variety of thought-provoking topics. I'm using this a little differently from the recommended intention for the cards: as a GM for a completely homebrew game I've been randomly selecting cards from the deck and adding the answers into the backstory for whatever NPC I'm creating for a session. I've found this helps to give NPCs a little more depth and variety without adding a substantial workload to session prep.

Absolutely love this. I'm relatively new to role playing and want to get better. This was a really fun conversation piece to make us think about our characters and what flesh out their stories. It's fun and a game in its own rights. Give it a go!

Bought this based off the CCC podcast review and positive experience of the author's body of work and it did not disappoint.Physically, the production is faultless, with sturdy almost satin finish cards, colourful without garish borders, and a pleasant rounded edge. My habit is to sleeve cards out of the box but this may not be necessary.The inclusion of an X card is very welcome, with its synopsis of the mechanism.The cards themselves pose some interesting questions that take the table down some very unusual paths of character development, and I would hazard that almost any game table would find them beneficial. From adding character in tactical games through to adding nuance to more narrative tales.If I have to pick a hole, and it's a very small one, some of the cards pose more fantasy themed questions, although given the dragon game's unfounded prevalence in the market, that's understandable. We solved that issue by just discarding and re drawing the card in question.We also did a quick fire round (one question read to the table and first person to jump in answers) and a round Robin (one question and everyone answers) and they work well, too.

Picked up a couple books by the author previously, and this kept the high standard.Nice quality product and a fun addition to any table top game.Much better than 'you all meet in a tavern'

A wonderful and accessible way of telling stories from the serious to the silly, while making memories with characters as you give them depth and nuance. Lovely card stock, elegant design. Can’t recommend this enough both as a party game and also a wonderful tool for roleplaying or story telling!
