Carlube XCG070 Multi-Purpose Grease, Copper

A far larger tube than was expected and ever previously used.Originally used for a variety of motorcycle maintenance tasks and primarily to remedy a squeaky brake system, for which role it was specifically recommended and effective. The grease can also lubricate bolts and screws and ease release.Also useful to lubricate hinges as it cannot drip as will machine oil and other lubricants often used - that is its initial application where it will be used. It was also suggested as a possible remedy for a sticky lock barrel which was subsequently learned to be a definite NO-NO for any metal-on-metal situation; PTFE or graphite dry lubricant are the best choices. There are several automotive applications where it may prove useful.Very little is needed so the tube will last for years.

I have been using grease with copper for many years after seeing it used at my work, on engines and skids used on boats and drilling rigs offshore. Copper helps with great anti-seize properties when used on threads.I had a large tub which lasted me for years, applyiny the grease with a small paintbrush, and I decided to replace it with a tube instead.I use this on my car any time I remove and replace a wheel, I out a small dab on the stud before putting the nut in place. I absoultely hate that feeling and squeel of removing a dry and tight nut. I change my wheels over to winter tyres every autumn and back to regular tyres every spring, and have had no problems to remove any nuts over the past four years.I also use this on any thread of moving parts where seizing or corrosion that leads to seizing, could be a problem.As I only use very small amounts for time to time, this tube is far more convenient and pratical for me than a large tub.

Cheap, cheerful, does the job. Didnt take too long to arrive either!

Below are my initial impressions.So far used it on brake pads and couple of bolts. Grease consistency was adequate to easily squeeze it out of the tube and apply to the surface without it sliding off your finger before reaching desired area. How good it is in preventing seizing only time will tell.

Everyone who assembles moving parts and doesn't want them to seize uses copper grease.Watch any clip on assembly and you'll see them using it. Watch your mechanic in the garage and you'll see them using it.It's exactly what it says. I've used on my brake pads and even on stubborn "MONITOR SUPPORTING ARMS" as the nylon bushing that came with it was wearing off.It's always good to keep a tube in your tool box...you never know when you're going to need it.

I use this on bolt threads, car aerial threads etc to prevent seizing. I also smear onto inside face of car wheels to stop them seizing onto hubs. Excellent stuff and good value.
