HendersonsSpicy Yorkshire Relish 284 ml (Pack of 4)

I was brought up on Henderson's relish and was finding it hard to get it now I no longer live in Sheffield. Running out in between family visits was daunting, but now I know where to get it from and its free post too, I cant ask for more than that.I use it on pies, on my fish & chips (I don't like the smell of vinegar), In stews on my beans, egg & bacon, etc.... It is very versatile and taste wonderful. It is the same consistency of Lea & Perrins but hasnt got that funny smell or taste that lea & perrins has. It has been brewed in Sheffield for over 100 years.It is good for marinading Beef, chicken and pork, never used it with lamb though. I made a sticky Chinese sauce for my spare ribs with Henderson's Relish and it turned out fantastic. Soups, stews, pies, fish, meat etc it is good for lots of things. But I like it best on my chips.It sort of reminds me a little bit of Branston's Spicy Brown Sauce, the taste & the smell is very nice. 2 bottle's of this I have just ordered will be wrapped up for my son in law even though he is a Norfolk boy he adores this relish so will be well pleased he got some for Christmas.It is Gluten free and also good for vegetarians.

Having acquired a taste for Yorkshire Relish during my childhood days, in the West Riding, I had longgiven up trying to find it in the supermarkets of Southern England, where I now live in retirement.Well, you could have knocked me down with a Yorkshire pudding, when a friend told me that a sellercalled The Yorkshire Pantry, not only stocked it, but had an online presence on Amazon.I ordered a 4 pack of the 284 ml size bottles of the relish ( made by Henderson's of Sheffield ) andit was delivered within 24 hours. For those who are unfamiliar with the taste, it is similar to Lea &Perrins Worcestershire Sauce, but has its own unique spicy flavour and has been made to thesame secret recipe for over 100 years.For those who do not eat meat, it is approved by the Vegetarian Society and is also Gluten Free.It is suitable for most dishes as a marinade, or table sauce for meat, fish, soups, pies andcasseroles, indeed almost anything that requires that little extra to bring out the flavour.It has a long shelf life, the Best Before date on my bottles reads June 2018.

Its very nice, slightly less spicy than LEE and P.

Arrived in lots of bubble wrap , safe and sound . The best accompaniment for meat and potato pie ! This was the first time we haven't had a spare bottle in the cupboard , although we moved from Sheffield many years ago Hendersons Relish is on our " dessert island " list , love it .

I grew up on this stuff. I cannot eat a beef dish without a good dollop of Henderson's: Gregg's Steak Bake, chilli, bolognese, casserole, etc. We are becoming more vegetarian as a family, and I find that a hefty splurt of Henderson's takes away any blandness and adds a certain 'Jane sais quoi '. Some people would try to have you believe that Worcester sauce is the superior relish but they are fools.

Absolutely superb. Use it in stews,casseroles etc. Gave some to friends who agree very,very tasty

Love the relish, Infact I could drink the stuff, born & bread on it. However displeased that in this day & age the bottles do not have tamper proof seal, especially as not physically picking them off the shelf myself. 1 of my 4 bottles had been opened & not sealed tight enough, it had leaked out.

The sauce was purchased for my elderly dad. I think it would be fair to say that he is obsessed with Yorkshire Relish and has great difficulty getting it in Northern Ireland. Anyway, he reckons that this is the best Yorkshire Relish ever, and so no doubt our order with keep repeating every time his stock runs low. So, if you like Yorkshire Relish then it appears you will love this stuff!
