The stand out benefit of this bulb is that it is low wattage. Many of these bulbs are high wattage and can cost a lot to run. Our current bulb that we use for our tortoise is about 80w and costs about 9p an hour to run. These bulbs come in a variety of wattages - 13w, 20w or 26w. They also come in different UVB ratings - UVB 2.0, 5.0 or 10.0. The level of UVB that you need is determined by the reptile species that you keep. The lowest is for reptiles that don’t need too much sunlight. The middle level (5.0), is for rainforest / subtropical species. The top level (10.0) is for tropical desert areas. The bulb that we got was 26w / UVB 5.0. Our tortoise is a Horsfield tortoise, so i do now wonder whether the UVB 10.0 would have been more suitable.The bulb is an E27, so it should fit a standard reptile lamp fitting. It comes well packaged in a cardboard box and with internal packing. The box has all of the required information written on the outside. Once plugged in, the bulb has a cool white tint. The bulb provides UVA, UVB and heat. I don’t have a surface thermometer, so am unable to say how this compares in terms of heat against our other bulb. Using the good old fashioned ‘back of the hand’ test, it didn’t feel as warm as our 80w bulb. I’ll see how our tortoise fares under it, as he does like to bask under his bulb.

We have used this in combination with a lamp holder specifically for reptiles but we are actually using this inside our bunnies outdoor hutch to keep the chill out of her main bedroom area.Everything has been installed accordingly so she can't nibble on any wires and the heat output of this bulb is perfect to keep her sleeping area warm during the winter.I tested the heat output with a thermal gun and the ambient heat output averages around 65°C + and obviously dissipates outwards helping to keep the hutch cosy and warm for her.The bulb is also vented which helps longevity and with a relatively low energy draw of 26w we can leave this on for her without worrying about how much extra this puts on our energy bill.Even left on 24hrs this would only cost in the region of about 20 odd pence per day based on current energy prices.It gives off no harmful rays and the design allows air flow to pull the heat through the coiled design helping to distribute warmth.The price is somewhat pricey at £18.99 but this does seem like a very good quality bulb and heat and light output is good for the wattage.

I recently purchased the NEPTONION UVB 5.0 Reptiles Bulb and I couldn't be happier! It's also very compact and fits perfectly in my terrarium. I appreciate how easy to install and use the bulb was, as well as its reasonable price pointIt's a great product , definitely worth it!

We have a bearded dragon this bulb is sturdy throws out the correct amount of heat and is very robust.All in all good value for money I would buy another.

Stopped working after 4 weeks of use

I use this for myself to get vitamin d and to regulate melatonin on the advice of my doctor. I turn it on as the sun rises and turn it off at dusk. I feel a slight boost in energy and mood and I am sleeping better. I have not gotten any kind of tan or burn on my skin from it, it's not strong enough for that unless maybe you held it very close to your skin for a long period. Can't comment on how it works for pets

I fitted this nice UVA UVB bulb from NEPTONION to this clip lampSansai Black Clip On Clamp Desk Lamp/Light w/ Adjustable/Flexible Neck Office https://amzn.asia/d/0hc795dI have put it with a auto timer switch clamped to a shelf above my bed so it runs for an hour between 4am and 5am to help me wake up for my full time employment, it fells very nice I think like it has a very amazing soothing presence and is soft on the eyes also! It seams to be running perfect I hope it lasts a long time and I can get another of these nice flourescent 26W UVA UVB globes in the future and also add one in my bathroom/shower!
