Q: Is this any good removing limescale in a hot water cylinder

Yes I have used this on an indirect hot water storage cylinder in fact there are instructions in side how to do this. The illustration of a hot water cylinder on the outside of the tub is what drew my attention. However what I did was turn off cold water supply to cold water header tank in loft then drained hot water storage cylinder enough to allow removal of emersion heater, the added weight of the water inside the cylinder helps with the removal of the immersion, then drained hot water cylinder enough to allow coverage of internal coil and added lime scale remover this I found allows a stronger solution to be added and allows you to monitor progress once de-scaled flush system thoroughly and re-assemble. Q: Can this be used in central heating system

No, you need one specifically for central heating. This is for taps/ kettles etc

Q: Can this be used to clear a blocked cold water pipe?

If the blockage is scale related then potentially yes - it could take some time and it may be easier and cheaper to cut and replace the blocked section. If it used then a full flush to ensure the chemical has completely gone out of the system will be required after the blockage has cleared - especially if potable/drinking water supply as the product is harmful to humans and environment if not used correctly and safely.

Q: Fernox DS-3 How do you add it to hot water system?

Why would you do that? It then means you will have descaler coming out of your hot taps in the house. It won't make for a very nice bath. I use it to descale kettles etc. Use a tablespoon in half a kettle of water, boil and rinse several times before using.
