I ordered this shovel to use when I go camping. Besides the obvious of digging a hole, the shovel is loaded with many extra options. We used it to clean out the fire ring at our campground. There is also a serrated blade on the side of the shovel that was handy for cutting branches. It could also cut rope or other items. The included knife is sharp and since it tucks away into the handle, it is very easy to get it out for use. It also provided a long handle for leverage.We didn't use the included fire starter tool but that would be handy if you didn't have matches. The way the shovel end folds into different positions is great as well. Prefect for creating a fire ring, digging a trench, or leveling a campsite.We are Jeep and RV owners as well. This compact shovel is great for both. It is lightweight for all the tools that are included and it is compact for storage. When off road in the jeep or around the campground, this shovel does that job at an affordable cost. The included cover is a nice touch as well. I am ordering another one for my Jeep.

Perfect for outback

Came exactly as described. I got it as a gift for someone. He uses it for outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking and whatnot. He seemed to really appreciate that it had the edge for ax and the saw edge. And seemed extra excited that it had the fire starter flint thing. He likes how it is also usable as a hoe, and that you can store fishing line or other small items in the compartment where the firestarter and screwdriver are. He doesn't really care for the way the knife isn't more secure when you have the shovel stored in it's case. If the Velcro were to come loose there's the possibility of the blade getting out and cutting you when you reach in your pack if you aren't aware.

I had to use this a few times and it held up every time

Used it for a backpacking trip. This is a staple item now, I'll keep with me for every trip. The shovel is super handy. I cleared my tent site of debris , used it to hammer my tent stakes, and moved around fire logs. It makes a good poop shovel as well. The knife and whistle are nice, even though I didn't need either of them. I would not rely on the tinder kit, but even with that, it's still a great value.

My Covacure shovel has so many functions! It can be a regular shovel, hoe, or hook. On the shovel head there is a saw and a 3-hole screw wrench. Inside the handles are a sharp knife, can opener, flat screwdriver, Philips-head screwdriver, whistle, which sounds a shrill sound, and at the end is a sharp point which can be used to break glass. The entire tool folds up to compactly store in 2 holders. I think we will store this in our car to be used in emergencies.

This shovel is awesomeness at it's best! I love the way it breaks down, it's sturdiness and everything it can do. The holding pouch is great too. It is of great quality, the sharpness of the blade is out of this world. I dug out an apple tree that was 10 foot tall and a 30 inch circumference. I even used the blade part like an ax on the root system that needed to be dug out and chopped in pieces.
