St. Joseph Weekday Missal (Vol. I / Advent To Pentecost)

Nice daily Missal. the font is very readable; not too small. The book is very well made; very good construction. This will last for many years. I sure needed and wanted one and I am sure glad I found and purchased.

This book is a wonderful companion for anyone who regularly attends weekday masses. It contains all the readings, antiphons, collects, prayers over the offerings, and prayers after communion used during those services. It also contains the Proper of Saints. Hence, you'll always have everything you need for any weekday mass. Yes, it is that complete!I also want to state emphatically that the current missal DOES contain the liturgical changes promulgated in 2011. I can make this assurance because (1) I purchased both the Advent to Pentecost (Volume 1) and the Pentecost to Advent (Volume 2) from Amazon this year, and (2) I have used them at approximately one hundred weekday masses this past year. Having never discovered a mistake, I feel confident is saying that if there were any problems with either missal I'd have discovered it by now.A quick word about quality: You won’t be disappointed as much care went into its manufacture. The ribbons and binding are sturdy. The paper is of high quality, the printing is top notch, and the vinyl cover is quite durable.

I ordered this Missal to use at Mass.

I tend to get distracted easily and having the daily Missal keeps me on track. I tried a couple of the magazines that have the daily Mass readings, but they did not always work, because the Priest often has a number of options he can choose from, from celebration of a saint's day (or not) to choosing the Preface and the Eucharistic Prayer. The St. Joseph Daily Missal allows you to follow the Mass more closely because it contains all the various Prefaces and 10 Eucharistic prayers. However, and I think this is true of any missal, it takes a little getting used to. Do yourself a favor and purchase the Guide to the Saint Joseph Daily Missal. Also, keep in mind that this is Vol. I and only covers Advent to Pentecost. I purchased Vol. II (Pentecost to Advent) last year and love using this for Daily Mass. One more thing: Amazon's price was almost half of the bookstore price.

If you have the Volume 2 edition you were probably a bit disappointed to see that it didn't cover the entire year....this one will take you from where the Volume 2 edition leaves off. I go to church on weekdays and I have found this to be absolutely amazing!! It reads exactly as what is said in the Roman Catholic weekday mass.....from the readings and even in between the readings when they have the responses before the Gospel. It's GREAT.....AND it's good for many many years....I don't have it in my hand but I think it's good until about 2028.....Possibly longer

Great missal, only downside is it is not the Canadian version

I purchased the St Joseph Week Day Missal Volumes I & II thinking they were the same versions as the St Joseph Sunday Missal (Canadian Version) that I bought which was $33.18 CDN. It was only after getting them and attending the week day Mass did I realize they are (United States of America Versions). The Ordinary of the mass is the same but the Antiphons, Readings and Gospels, etc. are all different. No wonder they were only $27.22 CDN each.
