The media could not be loaded.  Our daughters (18m and 5yrs) were thrilled to receive this and could not wait to get it out of the box! They are obsessed with anything baby and dolls so couldn’t wait to get playing. This is where the problem began slightly, it was very difficult to put together and the instructions were not exactly easy to follow. Pieces that looked like the should go together would then need additional pieces placed inside them (the spoon, baby food jar and thermometer) so make sure you do take your time and try to decipher the instructions as best you can! Some of the pieces also come in push out template type sections, use scissors for this as some of the pieces once removed have very sharp edges, not ideal for young children we even felt that even with scissors some of the pieces could do with being filed down to smooth them even more. Once the set is together it was lots of fun for them (our 7yr son also loved joining in) they loved the little child monitor camera and the lullabies it made, especially as it almost replicated what our youngest daughter still has. The plasters were a great hit. All the plastic does seem very durable and would be difficult for a child to break. The set is designed for a smaller doll - think my first baby annabel - a doll any bigger than 30cm wouldn’t really suit this set at all. We fortunately have a range of different dolls our children could use. Because of the sizing I feel it’s not a room consuming toy but offers so many play opportunities and would suit a smaller bedroom/playroom area whereas some baby cots/sets on the market can be very large. I would definitely recommend this, our children love it, just take your time when reading the instructions and putting it all together!

I’m really impressed with this set for the price. It’s a really substantial item with a reasonable price tag and it’s also a brand I trust, Smoby. It doesn’t come with the doll and I would say it fits medium sized dolls, rather than say baby Annabelle sized dolls. It’s a bit tricky to put together, if you’re planning to give this to your child for Christmas and putting it up the night before then make sure you give yourself enough time! It has lots of cute functions and it’s interactive. I would have loved this as a little girl and I am sure any child would really enjoy it.I have knocked one star off purely because I’m not a big fan of the colour but that’s purely my preference and obviously doesn’t affect the quality of the item or its playability.I would recommend.

Just not good very small and cheap

This playset arrives in a large, attractively printed box measuring approx 39.5cm x 17cm x 50.5cm.It would be easy to wrap if you had a wide roll of wrapping paper & would make a fabulous main gift for a child who likes to role play caregiving with their dolls.There is some assembly to do before this is ready to play with, so for little ones who get too excited to wait, you might want to consider assembling before gifting.Once built, this contains a bed for your patient/baby, so you can lie them down & put plasters on their ouchies, take their temperature, brush their teeth with the toothbrush, wash their hands with the fake hand wash, or generally tell them to get better/diagnose them with whatever illness a teddy had on a kids programme that day.It can also double as a changing table (there is a small cupboard to store an included nappy at the foot of the bed) or even a spare bed when it's time to play something else.Beside the bed, there is a small worksurface for your caring child to leave things, with an area that could be used as a pretend sink for toothbrushing or to store things so they are less likely to fall off.The headboard area has a frame which comes with an image, but it could be swapped out for a real photo, or anything your child cares to draw.There are also slots to put the baby monitor in, which comes as 2 pieces.One does really do anything but looks like a monitor, the other plays lullabies if you add batteries (2xAA batteries required but not included) & has a picture of a baby doll lying on the bed in this set so you can take it with you to 'monitor' the patient while you have a snack.There is a mobile that hangs above the bed so it feels very full featured for playing nurse/doctor or just general carer to a baby doll.You also get a high chair, along with a bottle, a fake jar & bottle of baby food, a spoon with a food/gone feature & a plate so you can feed your doll once it's feeling better, or possibly cure it of hangriness.For Smoby, this is a fairly compact set & it's light enough to be easy to move around the place without trouble.I like the more neutral colours used in this newest version of the popular Smoby Baby nurse series & the really solid feel to the build.It's a toy that is likely to be in good enough condition to be passed on to another child after years of use & has enough room at it for more than one child to play at a time.Built to last.
