TONWON OBDII Scan Tool Scanner Adapter Check Vehicle Engine Light Connects Via Bluetooth 3.0 with Android Device

I've purchased several different models of these OBD-II adapters to find the best one for my needs. This one is near the top of my list. The app that comes with it works well and is fairly easy to use, but I prefer another app that is also compatible with this device. This device is small and compact, and I like that the status lights are on the end instead of on the side (because depending on the OBD port orientation, models with lights on the side can face backwards and not be visible). One of the features I like best about this device is that it comes with a built-in on/off switch, so you don't have to unplug it to keep it from draining your battery. I prefer the model that has an automatic off switch, because I don't even have to worry about it.In summary, it is a good device that is easy to use and has a built-in on/off switch.

Bought this one to extract wheel speeds on the CAN bus in order to find a bad ABS sensor on my Toyota Camry. The cheap ELM327 knock-off dongles from China are easy to brick and too slow to keep up with the CAN bus, so I decided to pay up to get a better one. What attracted me to this one was the white button. I thought in might be a reset button in case the device locks up. But as it turns out, it's an on-off push button (in = on). The device uses an ARM chip and is blazingly fast, running the ELM v2.1 instruction set. It did exactly what I wanted. They have QR codes in the owner's manual for a couple of OBD apps which work with this device but I haven't had the time to try them, which is why I rated it as a 4 rather than a 5 (for what I needed to do, the Elm Basic terminal app worked fine). It is Bluetooth 3.0 so does not assume a low energy state when not in use. Hence, the need for an on-off button, I suppose.

I was skeptical in the beginning as this product was priced well below its competition. It may not have all the bells and whistles but it does its job admirably well, and all you need is an Android phone with a Bluetooth and a free app like Torque. It can read and reset error codes and clear your check engine light, and I don't see why anybody would pay more for fancier looking OBDII scanner. It definitely saved me a trip to a repair shop and paid for itself in just one use.

This obd2 diagnostic tool works awesome, easy to set up and easy to use. Best tool I've bought for under $8.00 in my life. You don't even have to purchase any diagnostic apps for your phone , just download the one they suggest in the little instruction manual and create an account ( free of charge ) and your ready to start using your new diagnostic tool.

Excellent value; power switch on front allows unit to stay installed in vehicle w/o battery drain worry.Status LEDs also a nice-touch. Very pleased with this unit.

This was easy to set up for first phone, gotta new phone and having a problem getting it to recognize new phone, but it really does a lot when working

I had to reload the app a couple of times before I could get it to communicate & show readings/clear codes but it worked!

I give this product 0 stars all the way around to complete piece of crap you have to install an app on your phone which is in Chinese does not translate well to English does not perform as promised
