Not a hard shell, pressure would harm your portal.
This was maybe the only high rated item for the portal when i got it. The material is okay, but a bit of pressure would press the R3 and L3 buttons and you can feel it. It's okay to prevent scratches but not a 100% safe choice for travel.

Durable and a perfect fit!
Very happy with the case! Looked at several others and this is by far the best in terms of quality, durability and fitment. It does have a new item type smell that another review mentioned but it wasn't bad at all and aired out I guess! Don't let that deter you from what I feel is the best case on the market right now.

Very sturdy
This works well to protect your Portal investment. I did not find the smell repulsive like many others have commented about. There’s a smell, but it dissipates pretty quickly and no, it’s not going to make your Portal funky.

Does what you need it to do.
Wish it was a little harder on the outside and a little tighter fit when it comes to the inside molding but other then that I'm good with it and the price I paid. It does come with a card saying to air it out a few days but mine wasn't to bad.
