After getting badly burned by a certain other weighted blanket that treats customers like early Kickstarter backers after they’ve supposedly released, I still wanted to try a weighted blanket. This one in particular fit the bill and was reasonably priced and IN STOCK! Already miles ahead of Gravity and less than half the current price.As you can see in the pictures it came attractively packaged and even included a pretty cool, full color book/pamphlet about the product and company. Nice touch. The plastic packaging the blanket itself comes in even has environmental awareness warnings on it. You can tell these folks actually care about their product and the customers buying it. Caring about the environment itself isn’t exactly a requirement but hey, I like it.Oh right, the blanket! It comes without an outer cover, though it’s still very attractive, so it’s perfect for putting under your comforter or even on top. Weight is distributed evenly throughout and I haven’t had anything shift around on me even when I roll around to grab something from my nightstand. I’m a bigger guy so I was concerned the 15 pound blanket wouldn’t be heavy enough but it turns out it was pretty perfect.You’ve probably heard the comparisons to getting hugged and those are true, but it’s more of a secure feeling that I get from it. Kind of like when you’re not feeling well as a kid and a friend or family member tosses a heavy blanket on you. I sleep relatively cool with it, though I ditch the comforter and just use this over a sheet. I have no problem moving around as mentioned before, and kicking it off to get up is still relatively easy. Try to keep it centered though as if enough weight shifts off of the bed you’ll have to readjust it and that can be difficult while lying down.I can’t recommend this enough! I’m about four nights in with it and it will be a mainstay for as long as I can get away with it.

 I've always been skeptical about weighted blankets and their benefits, and I was SOOO wrong. I cannot explain how much this has changed my life. I work in a stressful industry and can never get more than a couple hours of sleep a night. This blanket had allowed me to have such a sense of calm and security, that i slept for 8 hours straight in the first night I used it. I haven't done that since I was about 13! The weight distribution is absolutely perfect and not lopsided, the blanket is very warm, but never gets too hot with it being such breathable material. It honestly feels like someone is holding/hugging me which really helps me relax and calm down. The inky downside is that it's 15 lbs and not the easiest to take camping. If you're skeptical like I was this is definitely worth the investment. You will not be disappointed.itd be cool in different colors I guess, but my favorite color is grey anyways, so I'm good.

I have been wanting a weighted blanket for a long time- and I'm so glad I decided to purchase this one!! I have trouble de-stressing and winding down at night, ultimately leading to trouble falling asleep, so I was waiting impatiently for it to arrive.When the package arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by the packaging, it was very neat and easy to open. When I opened the box, I found a little pamphlet. At first, I thought it was just information on the company, but when I opened it, I found a lot of really useful and helpful tips and tools on how to get better sleep, some causes for sleep troubles, and information on the blanket- uses and what not. I loved the addition of this information, and it taught me some things!Once I took out the blanket (queen size), I loved how soft the material is and how it is quilted. Compared to other weighted blankets I have tried, the weight is more evenly distributed in this blanket because of the smaller squares. I couldn't wait to try it out!!!My first night using it, I fell asleep almost instantly and didn't wake up once throughout the night, when normally I wake up at least 2-4 times! As soon as I went under the blanket it really did feel like I was being hugged and I felt a sense of calm. It was almost like all the stress from the day just melted away. It was awesome. When I woke up, I felt like I had the best nights sleep I've had in a while. I live in Atlanta, so I was worried about being warm- but the material and the way the blanket is made is very breathable, I wasn't too hot at all.I use it almost every night since I've gotten it, and I've honestly never gotten better sleep.I've recommended buying this blanket to everyone - my family, friends, coworkers.Best purchase I've made in a long time!!!!!

I was really excited to get this blanket. I tried making a weighted blanket a few months ago, but it turned out too heavy and the quilt blocks were too large. I decided to buy one instead. It ended up being smaller than I thought for what was listed as a queen size blanket. Also, it seemed to be leaking sand or something like it on to my sheets. I have a hard enough time as it is sleeping without sand in the bed. Maybe I got a defective one?

While Gravity blanket has certainly had an incredible marketing campaign for their product, it is no where near Mela.Having both of these blankets, I'm really disappointed at the Gravity Blanket and it is now a glorified $250 cat blanket.If you're not looking for a cat blanket, I would highly recommend this Mela blanket instead.Pros:- Attractive design- Even weight distribution- Size, quite a bit larger than the Gravity blanket- Half the price of the Gravity blanket- Good quality material- Very relaxingCons:- While it is advertised as a Queen blanket, I feel like it is more of a Full sized blanket. It doesn't fit the entirety of my queen bed like other blankets.- Currently only comes in 1 color. I'd love a lime green option.
