DAOUD Sabiki Rig Assorted 8/16/24 Packs Freshwater/Saltwater Sea Fishing Rigs, Bait Rigs with Ball Bearing Swivel for Bass Trout Walleye Red Fish

Set of Sabiki rigs from size 8 thru 15. See photo of set received. I've only used size 8 and 9, and is the basis of this review, using a 9' medium rod + 4000 reel.Rig is complete with barrel swivel, mono main line, 6 mono branch lines each with its own green glow bead/barbed hook/red skin/reflective threads, and ends in a snap swivel.Quality of the metal used in the swivels is on the lower end: it tarnishes rusty brown very quickly (after just 3 hours of salt water play), compared to name-brands. Snap swivel on the size 9 rig was useless. The clasp was shut closed, so I had to snip off that snap swivel and replace with my own. See snap swivel photo. After 3 3-hr sessions of salt water (includes fresh water rinse after each session), the barrels usefulness began to degrade with a grit-like feeling as I rotated the swivel eyes.Hook and barb sharpness on a scale of 1-10 (10 = Eagle Claw and 1 = skinless ripe banana): 7I've hooked myself several times in the wind, but it never penetrated skin. Other brands actually penetrate my skin. I'm either very clumsy on windy days or just lucky, or both. ;)Hook: Snell-tied branch and hastily wrapped red semi-transparent skin with beautiful glitter thread that really reflects the sun efficiently. See photo of Sabiki hook. The glitter thread is semi stiff and maintains its shape during each cast.Main Line: seems to be creased from packaging, but it unravels very nicely and loses the creases after a cast or two.Branch Line: Never snagged (on a sandy bottom) so I don't really know if a snagged branch line would break off first.Hooked a pan-sized halibut (WHAT?!) and several Pacific mackerel, but could not get the hook to set properly. Not a problem with another brand of Sabiki rig which needs no effort, but this one is just difficult to set [on the size 8 and 9 only] even if I work it.SummaryOverall PRODUCT review of 3/5 stars-1 star for snap swivel defect and lifespan of swivels compared to name brands.-1 star for hook sharpness, or lack thereof. When the surface is boiling, I don't want to be the only angler getting skunked when time matters.Seller is 5 stars, as I received the product as described and in prompt time per the stated delivery date.Update 12/4/2018Review on size 10-13 hook rig: Works really good. No defects on swivels or snaps on this set. Hooked myself again on each size, and lo and behold, there was blood. Hooks on these sizes were really sharp in contrast to my review on the hook size 8 and 9. Caught mackerels on each rig with no effort in setting the hooks. Next review will be on the size 14 and 15 rigs.Update 12/18/2018Size 14 snap swivel same defect as the size 9 (see original review above). Size 15 was ok to use straight out of the package.In the end, 2 of 8 had defective snap swivels. Not good odds. Would I purchase this particular brand again? Most likely not. I do not want to deal with defective products when I'm ready to cast my line out.

Tried these surf fishing without adding any additional bait, etc. (waded out as far as practical-Sanibel Island).Caught numerous species, and usually multiple fish at the same time! See pic. 6 hooks, 6 fish.

Well made and comes in a wide variety of hook sizes. Mostly used for dropping straight down to catch small bait size fish. If in a school of baitfish, you'll not even need to put any bait on the hooks. The shiny small wing-like attractors will get schooling and feeding bait fish to strike just because it's very visible.

If you’re going fishing off the pier and are looking to catch smaller fish like me so my kids can all catch a fish- or maybe you’re looking for bait fish, these are the rigs to get and this is a way better deal than you can get at the sporting goods store or even Walmart!

This pack has more potential... they need to change the color on the packed with the hook size... they work but they are all the same but different hook size

Works great off Pacifica pier. Jacksmelt love em. 1oz weight and tip the hooks with squid or shrimp.

Great price great product! Way cheaper than buying them retail. Nothing better than tangling one up and not feeling bad about throwing it out!

super cheap design. basically tissue paper wrapped around hooks, does not give of reflection like good sabiki rigs. scared to see what happens if i actually hook a fish
