Manfrotto MT055XPRO3 055 Aluminium 3-Section Tripod with Horizontal Column (Black)

This is an amazing tripod. It is a heavy well built tripod with excellent features. People think that spending around 15k on a tripod is foolish. But what's foolish is to trust your expensive cameras on cheap wobbly tripods. This is rock steady.Pros:1. Built like a tank. All parts are made of either tubular aluminium (similar to the ones on bicycles) or machined and sandblasted aluminium (similar to Macbook chassis). There's absolutely no flex or give in the moving parts. They are very precisely made.2. The stand is almost 5 feet 10 inches when mounted with a video head (from manfrotto) and a camera. I had to stand on the toes to properly see the screen with all 3 legs extended.3. Smooth extension of all the legs. As soon as you open the lock, the legs slide down smoothly and quickly.4. The locks are very strong.Cons:1. It's heavy. Meant only for studio use.2. There's a small rattling metal ring on the centre column. I'm not sure what that is for. It makes rattling noise. (this is called nitpicking)I paired it with MVH500AH video head. It's the perfect combination for my Nikon D7000.Highly recommended.

I was not being able to decide whether to go for Manfrotto 055 series tripod or most coslly Gitzo .Finally I decided to go with Manfrotto . Now I am happy because this tripod handles my Nikon 200-500mm lens mounted on Nikon d500 DSLR very well.

A very sturdy tripod, remains rock solid even in high winds. Bundle with a good head and you are ready to go almost anywhere.The 3/8 inch attachment screw on the head mount is a plus and more reliable compared to the 1/4 inch ones used in vanguard tripods. In some online forums it is stated that if you plan to support heavy gear, it is always advisable to go for the 3/8 inch mounts rather than 1/4 inch ones. It was the deciding point to go for this tripod instead of vanguard alta pro 263 at or vanguard abeo pro 283 at. The tripod holds well my D7200 with 18-140 lens. I hope that it will also be stable with a telephoto lens like the tamron 150-600. Recommended for every one starting with photography. The central column is a breeze to use, enabling various angles to explore macro, product and food photography.

Good tripod ! But little weight difficult to carry everywhere

Pros.-High quality build-Has an awesome 90degree tilt bar for over head shots.-Great functionality and versatility in terms of the height and also how flexible the legs are for those low lever shots.-Cons-HeavyTry this tripod with the MVH502AH fluid head mount from Manfrotto.Totally worth the investment.This product is just the tripod.For those who want to know about the fluid head I recommended to go with it I posted a pik below .you have to buy the fluid head separately.

Just buy this one, seriously, you'll never regret it. It's of course not for portable use, but for home or studio use I haven't been able to find a better tripod, and I have two of these, it's worth every penny, and a must have if you have an expensive camera.

Iam a wildlife photographer and do bird photography . This is a very stable tripod . I suggest this tripod for people with more than 5 feet 10 inches . A gimble head attached to this tripod may help in wonderful bird photography . Though tripod is bit heavy than 190 model but highly preferred for heighted people .

PS after A year's Usage:Manfrotto does not have authorised service centre anywhere in India. Only One third party agency obliges, that too based at Mumbai. The above information was given by their liason office executive. So event if the product may or (may not) be good, there is definitely no service back up. my email met with an automated reply of "will get back". nothing further.Feeling disappointed.BUILT QUALITY: its quite sturdy and serves its purpose. since of aluminium its a bit heavy. All the minute details as per their manual and website are well thought and working fine.OPERATION: it gives the lowest possible to placement of camera (with ball head) about a feet above ground to eye level in standing posture. In between various heights can be achieved through the preset lockable angles and the flexible central column. have tried all the positions of camera and central columns as per their manual and website. i found it quite user friendly.GENERAL: Check the screw sizes of ball-heads. check your ball head will fit well on top of it or not. mine was the older ball head and it fixing removing was extremely problematic.OVERALL: am satisfied for my use of outdoor and landscape photography.

I bought this tripod to replace my 40 year old Slik. So far I have not been disappointed. It is sturdy, adjustments are smooth and height is very good. Column side adjustment is very quick and locks positively. The major reason I purchased this model is that it did not have any camera mounting parts with it. I already owned Swiss-Accra mounts, ball heads and L brackets. I did not want to replace them.It would have been nice to reduce the weight somewhat; however, the sturdiness and ease of adjustment is the most important. I made a cradle holder with a comfortable shoulder strap and this solved the problem.

I used to think that I had a pretty good tripod that I used for my product photography...but then I found the Manfrotto MT055XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod and I paired it up with the Manfrotto MHXPRO3W head and now, I realize my old tripod wasn't that good after all. This Manfrotto tripod sets up quick and easy, and is pretty simple to adjust. It is very stable and can be reconfigured in all sorts of different ways. I can make sure that my camera is level all the time, so that I don't have to spend time re-straightening in post I am still learning all the different ways that I can set it up. It is amazing how low to the ground that you can set it up for close up photography as well as changing your prospective on a landscape shot. Yes, it is a little pricy, but hey, if you spend a lot of money on a camera, don't you want to make sure that it is setting on a sturdy tripod? You don't want to want to walk into a product shoot with thousands of dollars in camera and lens equipment and put it on a $19.99 tripod. Not to mention, in post, think of all the time it will save from having to correct a "not so straight" picture. I did a lot of research on this tripod, and couldn't really find too many bad comments about this product. It is a little heavy if you are planning on carrying it around all day. I bought a Manfrotto tripod bag to put it all in (it all fits in there just fine), so I can keep my hands free if I need to. It feels like a good sturdy build, and I believe that this tripod should last me a long long time. I highly recommend watching some of the videos online that explain the different ways to use this tripod. All in all, I think that you will probably like this tripod if you are an enthusiast or a pro. But hey, if you are just starting out and you only want to buy one tripod that is going to last you a long time...maybe this would be a good choice... I hope this review helps.

20年あまり使ってきたSLIKの1万円ほどの三脚が壊れたので買い換えました。10年ほど前に雲台が壊れてvelbonの雲台に交換していたため、今回はこの雲台を使い回すつもりで脚だけの購入です。EOS6D＋BG＋70-200mmF2.8L ISⅡ USMで3kgを超えるので、それなりの三脚を探していたのですが、価格が比較的安くてデザインも良かったので思い切って購入。現物を見ずに買ったのですが、思ったより大きくて重いです。孫の生活発表会で使おうと思って持って行ったのですが、肝心のカメラがバッグの中に入っていなくてアウト。。°°(>_<)°°。ということで実戦投入はお預けですが、頑丈で充分に使用に耐えそうなので満足しています。
