It took a little while to really get a good understanding how to use it but it came in pretty handy and was a lot more accurate that trying to use a tape measure.

Unless you disconnect your lower shock mount while the bike is on the stand, you need to have one of thesehandy tools to measure accurately the chain tension at the middle of the stroke. Suggestion is to check every ride, and maybe every 5 rides, remove the bottom shock bolt and manually check to see if it matches up to the recommended slack of the manufacturer, and doesn't bind at any point in the travel. Result is much longer chain life and much less stress on the engine (full potential). My only issue is that it is hard to read the numbers, even with glasses, and it takes two hands, so unless you have perfect close up vision, mark the min/max tension with red nail polish or a colored marking pen.

This product is definitely on the low side of the price scale which proves that you get what you pay for. It is difficult to use and leaves plenty of room for mistakes. Even when you use it properly,the results are not reliable and can vary by too high of a margin. If you require accuracy spend a little more and get a quality tool..
