A treat, but very salty
I ate small slices with salad, and it was a treat to have the real thing, but very salty

Just superb
It makes for a pricey tub of taramosalata when you take into consideration the price of the cods' roe, but my goodness it's marvellous! I'd have to order this in from our fishmongers if I wanted it and I'm convinced I'd pay more for it. This is the real deal and makes proper strong taramosalata the way it was meant to be eaten, pale, smokey, salty and delicious. Not that bright pink blancmange-type gloop you get in most supermarkets.Amazon Fresh is new to our area. I'm hoping that as it becomes more established, it starts packing in more fish and meat cuts not normally offered by high street shops. I'd love to see offal and nose-to-tail parts making a comeback. I can then stop shopping at specialist foody sites which charge way over the odds for cheap, plentiful cuts.

Disappointed
Have had this product before from another Amazon supplier and theirs was by far superior. This was hard to spread, think it had been frozen. Skin very hard to remove. Would not buy again.

Perfect for coeliacs who miss taramasalata
Absolutely love this stuff. I'd gone a long 7 years without taramasalata, because I'm coeliac and it's not easy to find gluten-free taramasalata in the shops.I've been enjoying Amazon Fresh since it became available in my area, and stumbling across this was the kick up the backside I needed to get on and make my own. I can say with absolute certainty that it will not be the only time I order this. It arrives fresh with a long use by date, and it is smoked to perfection. I made it into tarama with fresh lemon juice, some of the Warburtons Newburn Bakehouse, and a little olive oil. Gluten-free, delicious - in fact, my non-coeliac family liked it better than the normal tarama we buy in the shops for them. Highly recommended.

Essential for authentic tarasamalata. Delicious! If you find it a bit too salty just soak the roe in water for a while 1st to purge it a little... but not totally nessesary. Bit expensive but hard to find. So good!

Totally inedible. You need to confer with Waitrose. Their cod roe is far cheaper and tastier.
