Pull both bands hard not to slacken. 6.Tie the two bands tightly on the front. 7.Adjust seams to your backbone. Put the finishing thouch. 8.Now dressing yukata is complete. The normal length of yukata your ankles are almost coverd.

A nice piece, cool fabric but not too roomy after a lot of shrinkage
Though very stiff out of the package, the fabric softens up after washing. If it follows suit with similar Japanese cotton goods I've owned, it will continue to soften with future washes. The cotton is thin and breathable, without feeling cheap, and it feels good when worn in this warm So-Cal climate. The cut is traditional and the printed design looks great (gentle breeze). I like the secure feeling of the double-wrap tie, but it took some practice to get it right-- the instructions are entertaining but not super clear. It's became quick and easy to put on after a couple wearings.I bought this for use as a bathrobe, and though it's plenty long for that purpose, it's not very roomy in the width dept. I'm 6'4" and 165 lbs, so I'm tall and fairly slender (with a bit of a Buddha belly). I first bought the Med size, since that seemed like it would suit me, but after one wash in cold water on low heat dry, it shrunk so much it was too tight when tied properly (and I couldn't sit down without my tonsils showing). Swapping to the XL size, it's now a better fit and quite comfy, but if you're on the wider side physically it may not work well for you. If you're not sure, get the XL and give it a try, Amazon's return policy allowed me a full refund on the Med size.

Well made but smaller than expected.
Was looking for something nice and roomy to relax in, so ordered a larger size. What arrived was skimpy and no had seam allowance to let it out -- plus it shrank when I laundered it in cold water. A nice garment for a smaller person, but not as large as I expected based on how it was described.

Japanese Kumono for my Sumo
Husband loves this. Very happy with it and it even comes with instructions for proper way of wearing. We got a size larger because description says they runs small, and my husband has very broad/wide shoulders.

Size!
Nice product, but sizing is really small. XL is barely large enough for me, and I wear a L in most things. 100% cotton, so be sure to launder in cold, as it will shrink a bit even then.

Scratchy.
Scratchy. I tried washing it over and over and over again to soften it but so far to no avail. I’ll keep trying but my husband can’t endure it next to his skin. I was so disappointed because I had purchased some when I was in Tokyo and they softened up beautifully. Hope springs eternal and I’ll continue to try.
