Quiet,compact,nice

This DVD came packed in a branded box inside you get the player(obviously)and remote and audio cables, could have been HDMI cable instead of audio but never mind remote did not have batteries but for £21 what do you expect,me I don’t expect anything more, the player is small and I like this To say it’s basic is not actually true there are a lot of buttons on the remote inc slow(won’t really use that)I wanted a multi region player I have all the JESSE STONE series most of which are region one this is the only reason I bought this player (I also have Samsung Blu-ray 3D player)so didn’t want to spend too much but £21 is a great price)it runs very quiet I am happy with the sound and picture so if you just want a little DVDplayer you can’t go wrong with this at an excellent price thank you

Great Functionality and Value

A quick appraisal for those, like me, with a short attention span. For the price, this is an amazing DVD player. It will play UK and US (region 1) DVDs and will also play USB memory sticks containing MP3 and MP4 files. There are a HDMI digital output and a component video (yellow, white, red) analogue output. The remote is a bit flimsy and has fiddly buttons but still usable. I have no idea about longevity but the player is of lightweight construction, which does not inspire confidence for a long working life. For those interested in my reasons for purchasing such a player, I will explain. I have recently taken over the stewardship of a U3A (University of the Third Age) group with the remit of “Appreciating Classical Music”. Previously, group members had sat listing to CDs of classical music on a Bose Acoustic Wave music system. This format was not to my taste, as I found it a bit stultifying. I wanted to play DVDs of musical topics: famous composers, famous musicians, opera excerpts and so on. I wanted to play MP3 (320 bps) musical pieces on memory sticks with the ability to quickly switch to the next piece without unloading and loading of CDs.The “classroom” has a flat-screen TV set installed with a built-in DVD player, but the sound quality of its built-in speakers is simply terrible (not an unusual problem with cheap TVs). Previously I used my Blu-ray player which only has an HDMI output. The TV has no music output (not even a headphone jack), so I had 4 carrier bags of kit to split the HDMI signal and convert the sound to analogue RCA phono for Acoustic Wave input plus a Sony music system for USB memory stick input. Realising that this is an inconvenient and clumsy way of doing things I hunted on Amazon for a DVD player with a separate phone sound output plus HDMI for the TV picture input. The USB stick capability was a pure bonus. I will update this review to report progress.

Perfect

Wow, perfect! Fits in a small space so I can actually have it along with other electrical under my tv. I use the cable that came with it to connect it as all my HDMI spots are already being used. Picture and sound quality both fine. The remote has fairly small buttons but that seems to be fairly standard these days. You need to have two AAA batteries of your own, they're not supplied. All in all an excellent investment! Quite honestly, if you don't trust it at this price for your main tv then at least get one for a tv in another room.I haven't tried using a usb stick yet, that comes later.

Great product but be careful to order HDMI cable to your order

This machine replaced one with SCART connectivity. I had not read the product details carefully enough to realise I needed something different. Once that problem had been sorted out it was virtually plug and play so no cocerns about the DVD player itself.

Great

Really can't find anything not to like about this player at all. It has features I only found on more expensive machines. It's easy to set up, the picture quality and sound are very good, it's light and has a small footprint but best of all doesn't break the bank.Really good value sums it up.

Works well

It's a very good DVD player and plays multi region DVD's as stated, although as others have said though the settings need tweaking when it's first switched on. In my case the fuse had also blown in the plug and I had to change it before I could do anything, luckily I had one in the house,The remote does NOT come with batteries unlike every other electrical appliance I have ever bought and it's a bit small but I suspect I'll get used to it.No HDMI cable either but you can add an amazon basics cable when buying the player. Don't get me wrong these are all minor problems it seems a good player so far but I've only had it for 2 weeks.

Excellent

Needed a small DVD player to go on bedside cabinet to replace an old Samsung. Only use occasionally so did not want to spend a fortune. It works great and is very quiet when running. If you want a small footprint DVD that does what it says it will. This is it.
