feels nice and sturdy and transfers heat nicely to the bottom ...
You really do get what you pay for. Although I thought this was a bit pricey for just a baking sheet, it is well worth the money t didn't buckle at all in the oven, feels nice and sturdy and transfers heat nicely to the bottom of tarts and flans. Washes nicely due to the non-stick.

Really even heat and releases food easily
Replaced some old non stick baking sheets which are quite scratched now. judging by the homemade pizzas I cook on them which are a much more even brown on the bottom, the heat spreads evenly and quicker as these are ready sooner. No rolled edges to get food trapped in so very easy to clean. Feel solid.

still the best baking tray I own - review based on multiple uses
very sturdy - doesn't warp, twist or buckle. I always used with a silicon liner for guaranteed non-stick. As far as other reviewers comments about it now being thinner, well yes it is but there is no detrimental effect on its performance. I own both the old style and this new thinner one and they perform exactly the same. I mean, my old mobile was a lot thicker than my new one but that's progress not a negative! Expensive but well worth it

Mermaid Hard Anodised Baking Sheet
A well made, one piece alloy sheet which is coated to prevent sticking. I followed the 'proofing' instruction on the manufacture's website yet everything still stuck. This went back for a refund.

Useful
Useful. I like the double layer. Flat sides mean you can bake almost to the edge.

Cutting corners
Agree with Walt119, it's a lot thinner than the old ones. Maybe half the thickness of the ones we bought 5 years ago. No longer feels anywhere near as bomb proof, which is a pity given the price.

mermaid sheet
I love this product and would heartily recommend it I have now used mine for a year and it has washed like a dream and rarely sticks, I find if something does stick allowing it to cool usually unsticks it!only drawback can be that things slide off if you aren't careful not to tip it as you are taking things from the oven

30% reduction in thickness, nowhere near the weight of the older version.
In the last few minutes I've taken delivery of this baking sheet and am very disappointed. I already have one of these sheets I bought about 12 months ago. I've used it many times and on occasions wished I'd a second one. When putting it away, after removing the label and giving it a good wash, I got the old sheet from the cupboard to store them together. It was immediately apparent the new sheet was nowhere near the same as the old sheet. These are the reasons why:Old sheet 3mm thickness and weights in at approx. 850 grams.New sheet 2mm and as a result the reduced weight is down to approx. 550grams.Without a calculator, in my book, that's more than a 30% reduction in weight and thickness. The cooking surface area seems to be the same, but I'm concerned this item will not perform as good as the old one and twist and distort when cooking at higher temperatures.I have many Samuel Groves Mermaid bakeware items, but sadly my love affair with them is now over, if this is the Groves way forward I shall be looking for alternatives and can no longer recommend them.
