I like this bookI had join design a serial petroleum plant team.And had design and maintenance heat exchanger about construction.I like this book for reference.

No. just no. This book is like what would have resulted if Donald Trump authored a book on heat exchangers with no ghost writer or editor and a randomly generated title. The table of contents is like titles of Wikipedia articles that are just peripherally-related to heat transfer vomited keywords in no logical order.If you are actually trying to DESIGN a heat exchanger, this is the equivalent to saying "do it correctly and no troubleshooting is necessary."There are probably a thousand topics addressed, but each topic is acknowledged for a maximum of two paragraphs. More like three sentences. Minimal math, unexplained equations, errors in equations (looking for NTU?... well, stop. they typed NUT). And arghhh... some chapters have their own nomenclature at the end of the that chapter (some don't) ... and most chapters' nomenclature is unique.Flow rates through heat exchangers? Three sentences.Detuning?And I quote... in it's entirety... "this topic has already been discussed."Fatigue analysis?Definition of cyclic service. One sentence.That's hilarious.Gamma rays? (Relevant?) About the same amount of info.Author's probable reaction to me purchasing this book: HahahahahaI think I will burn the book to remove all incriminating evidence that I ever owned such a colossal waste of paper and supported and author who is insult to engineering.

This is good book even though I found a few wrong called out references.I wish if book could have some common things stated in the book such as heat transfer coefficients or fouling factors instead of refer to the references.

Very complete analyses, both practical and theoretical aspects well covered.I would like some more details on calculating combined convection-radiation bundles.

Dopo avere acquistato diversi libro aventi per tema la progettazione di uno scambiatore di calore mi è capitata per mano una copia di questo libro di un collega, ne sono rimasto folgorato, poiché a differenza dei libri accademici si parla di fare qualcosa e non di astrusi calcoli che all'atto pratico hanno limitata utilità, per contro si mantiene un livello sufficientemente approfondito da non scadere all'estremo opposto cioè semplificazioni e superficialità che lo rendono applicabile a soli casi semplici.Nel caso nostro si trattano quasi tutte le categorie di scambiatori (vi sono tutte le tipologie utilizzate in pratica ma sono assenti o poco trattate le tipologie che hanno applicazioni di piccolissima nicchia o si sola speculazione teorica.Il livello è molto profondo ma sempre applicabile.Di grande interesse la parte sul fouling.Unico neo la copertina flessibile, che è veramente debole: un foglietto di forse 300 g/m2 poiché la versione hardcover costa come un trapianto di cuore.

The book gives very comprehensive descriptions of a wide range of heat exchangers. I was a little disappointed that there was not more information about actual heat transfer and pressure drop performance. I expected to find more correlations for heat transfer coefficients etc.

Overall a good reference on Heat Exchangers.
