Trophy FX12BL Firestix Light-Up Drumsticks, Blue

I almost passed on these because of the low ratings people have given them. I took a chance on them anyway because I figured the fun effect they could have out weighed the chance that they were as bad as the reviews said they were. The fact is, these are pretty cool. I have played with them for about 1 hour total now and they work great and are holding up to quite a beating. Far more than I thought they would. They light up bright and look pretty awesome.Having said that, there are a few things these are not. First as mentioned in other reviews they do not have the same feel as a wood stick. I see no reason to lower their rating for that though because after all, they are not wood sticks! Wood sticks are pretty rigid where these have some flex to them. They're not rubbery just not rigid like wood. This is likely so that they are durable. Unlike wood, plastic has no grain structure. If these were made more rigid they would likely be brittle and break easily. These are likely a compromise between rigidity and durability. Overall I'd say the effect is very livable and they are very playable.Also, these will likely not be as durable as a good wooden stick. These again are not wood and plastic after all. The thing is, wood sticks don't last forever and even break during use. These also will not be every day sticks and possibly not even all night sticks. They will be sticks where the added effect of a brightly lighted stick is worth the loss of feel and possibly durability.If you're thinking about these for an added effect for a show or a little novelty when your playing, I say go for it. They do appear to be able to hold up pretty well to hard use and for limited uses they can be pretty cool. Just don't expect that you will throw away your wood sticks, that's not the point of these.B

These have just been a kick. They don't look incredibly vibrant like in the picture, so don't expect some sort of Disney IMAX experience. But they do light up, they are cool, and make an impression. Even in a fairly light room, you can tell that they are faintly glowing. The darker it gets, the better they look. At a party recently, all of the kids wanted their chance to try 'em out (in a slightly darkened room).

One lit up & was very brilliant - the other barely lit up at all. These were a gift for my 19 year old grandson, so initially I was very disappointed. We once bought him a set at Disneyland. They were very brilliant from the start/lasted for years. When I complained to amazon.com about these, they made it right, so I purchased the $6 batteries. Once I was able to change the battery (not as difficult as it appeared - as I used the screwdriver from an eyeglass kit) these turned out to be an excellent gift indeed! Now the grandson is drumming all over the house (& destroying our hearing with the noise). He also enjoys drumming in the air at night, even when we are out driving (these light up when he drums in the air). Also he takes them to bed & drums even after "lights out". Well that's why I bought them, because I wanted him to get back to his drumming and he has! He used to be a drummer in the high school band & had given up on his drumming. So maybe he will pick his drum set up again someday, instead of tapping these sticks on the tables, chairs, books & beds. I hope so, cause then I can stop telling him to "Quit doing that!"

These sticks are kinda cool...I like the concept of the impact response for the lights, but I'm disappointed in the overall endurance they lack because so far 50% of the sticks that I've received had one issue or another with the sensors either locking themselves on so it drains the battery dead or just quit working.

Looked great on stage. To be honest I thought they were gonna break, especially when I invited someone from the crowd to play the drums and he really banged the sh... out these! But...they are still working with no issue. They look pretty awesome on stage especially in low lightOnly bad thing is that they dont really have an on-off switch. If you want to turn them off you have to unscrew the screw that holds the batteries (with a screwdriver). Not sure how long the batteries last. We have used them in 3 shows and we have been carrying them around for a while - they do turn on when you shake them but they get the brightest when they are actually hit, so they get the job done very well. BD gift for my son. They light up fairly easily, very reactive to even light tap. Very solid clear plastic that lights up end to end fairly brightly. Can be see in lit room. As others mentioned, they aren't the BEST sticks for drumming. This isn't the only pair you will ever use ...nothing else ever again. My son is very practical, and these aren't that practical. But, he really LOVES them. Forewarned. These are not your primary sticks. But apparently they are WAY cool. They must be. My kid says so, and he is probably cooler than your kid.

After reading the multiple reviews of this product, I was a bit hesitant to spend the money on these guys. It is true that these sticks are more flexy/bouncy than your average stick, so that does take some getting used to. Unfortunately, the two sticks that I received had different sensitivity levels. One goes off if you so much as flick it, and stays on for about 2-3 seconds while slowly dimming. One has to hit a drum with a bit of umph in order to go off, and has some good flash to it. Because of the sensitivity issue, the sensitive stick was low on batteries on-arrival and was noticeably dimmer than the other. So I changed the batteries in the one stick and brought them to church with me as I play in the worship team there......so I whip these bad-boys out on the first song (lightsaber noise)......and the lights dim......and the old people had a fit......and it was AWESOME!!!The older people didn't like these so much, but the youth group loved them. They are much brighter than I expected, and I'm so glad I bought them. The little 3-year old cutie-pie in my church wants to be a drummer like his uncle and steals these sticks almost every week. 4 stars! Hope this helped!

Awesome and bright

Me llego en excelentes condiciones, lo que pedí y me encanto, es un buen producto, recomendado, tiene muy buena iluminacion, y llego muy rapido, antes de lo plameado, lo pedi un 20 y me llego un 26, en solo 6 días hábiles, hasta veracruz.

Las he comprado para mi hijo de 2.5 años, que le encanta la bateria. Y esta alucinado!!! Son bastante consistentes, y pesan un poco, pero en cuanto las golpea y se iluminan se vuelve loco.Muy satisfecha con la compra, al menos por ahora.Buenos, pues dos días después dejó de funcionar una de ellas, espero que sean las pilas!!!!
