When I received this item I immediately installed the included batteries and started to assemble them. As I was testing them I found that 2 were defective. Those 2 made a low pitched staticky sound. I thought the batteries might have been bad so I tried some 9v I had on hand and still the same result. So the fire alarms themselves were defective. Also reading on the box and Manual I noticed several spelling errors such as California was spelled “Californis”. It was referring to California state fire marshal. The manufacturer is based out of China, I just feel as if these are cheaply and defectively made. I didn’t feel safe using them in my home so I returned them.

I installed two of the four detectors. When i tested the final two before installing them, there is only a faint vibrating sound. I have now missed the return window....

Three days beyond return policy one of the four has died. Will not stop chirping and flashing. Tried brand new battery still chirping and flashing! Might look elsewhere?UPDATED: Three of these detectors have now failed in less than 6 Months! They are complete garbage.

This pack of smoke detectors is among the most affordable, which is probably why I didn’t mind that one of them was broke upon arrival. The remaining ones work great and were easy to install.I like the fact that they blink every minute or so to indicate they are working as expected. Nothing intrusive or that noticeable, but it’s a great way to quickly see if It has a good battery.

Bought these units to replace all of my hard wired first alert smoke detectors that were over 8 years old but still working. Great price for the 4 pack. I was surprised at how easy they were to replace. Just unplug existing electrical connection, replace mounting plate, plug back together and remount to new backing plate. Recommend!

So many choices if you think the high dollar units are the best. To me for the buck I made a good choice. The right size that works and not look like a big bowl on the ceiling. Work great

I have recommended this exact product to many people! Best battery smoke alarms out there. Not annoying.

The units install easily and tested out properly. My only issue is that the Amazon site says the detectors are guaranteed for 10 years. The package material says the guarantee is only 3 years. Which is it?
