Quality product
Great puzzle, great value. My grandchild loves the animal sounds; very well made and pieces are large enough for a one year to play, we love to listen to the very realistic animal sounds. I liked it so much I bought another to keep at my house.

Fun little puzzle
My year old grandson likes this puzzle and the sounds it makes. It is sturdy. He can't put the pieces back in exactly right yet, so it's nice that the instrument's sound will play even when the piece is just hovering over the place it goes. The only problem is that my daughter-in-law says it will sometimes play some of the musical sounds when no one is playing with it.

Nice gift
Super cute. Our nephew loved this and so did his parents. (To be fair, he loved throwing the pieces, but they held up.)

Simple toddler puzzle for introductory animal sound learning. THERE IS AN ON/OFF SWITCH.
These Melissa & Doug style puzzles are a hit in our house. They are great introductory puzzles to help little hands learn manipulation of objects and the sounds make things more engaging. As a learning toy, they are appropriate for younger toddlers, but can still be enjoyable and entertaining for older toddlers. In our house, the near 2-year-old is learning how to place the pieces and is learning the sounds of each animal. (It's nice to have sounds beyond just the basics. Sure, they learn the farm animal sounds from Old MacDonald, but this gives us a bit more variety...which is REALLY nice when you have toddlers who like to repeat things ad nauseum ALL. DAY. LONG.We own THREE of the puzzles in this collection: vehicles, zoo, and farm. I would love to review them separately, as I would give two out of the three a 5-star rating. As it is, I have to give it a 4-star for a MINOR issue. This is purely due to some construction error in the particular piece we own. For some reason, our zebra is mildly haunted and will occasionally make sounds randomly if the puzzle is left unattended on a table. This is the only piece out of the three puzzles that does this and it doesn't happen all the time, so I just shrug it off. Especially since THERE IS AN ON/OFF SWITCH on the back. (Thank you ever so much to the designers who put that in...some days I need a few sound-free minutes.) Another reviewer commented that you couldn't play the puzzle in silent mode. For all of the versions we own, this is not the case. I can switch those babies off at any time. There is a small sound delay when placing multiple pieces, so you won't hear the sound of a second piece until after the sound from the first piece finishes. This can be a little frustrating for toddlers on initial use, but I've found that it helps them learn patience. A few times playing with these puzzles and they quickly learn the quirks. It's totally a nonissue for us.So...other than our poltergeist zebra, I give these puzzles a huge thumbs up. And hey...if you need a little extra surprise in your day, maybe random animal sounds can just add to your ambiance. For our house, these will get plenty of miles and I am very happy that we have them in our toddler puzzle collection.

Great Product for little ones
I bought these for my grandbabies! They are great quality and well made! The sounds are so cute, and I love that you can turn the sound on or off!

Grandsons love it
As pictured-grandsons love the animals and the noises they make. They have figured out if they also put their finger on the sensor under the pieces they can also make the noise go off. Some sensitivity to light - noises sometimes don’t sound if lights are too dim.

Good puzzle, not a good sound
The puzzle itself is nice and seems to be a good quality (we received the package today), but the sound don't work (or sound) well. You have to be in a well lit room for it to make a sound, but then it still makes sounds randomly (you shadow the chip with your hand or other piece). Plus the sounds are not necessarily nice (even I get scared by that monkey sound, nothing cute about it). Plus it don't come with batteries.I would not buy it again and will most likely use this one without batteries as just normal puzzles.
