Just like intel
Same length and build as the intel one that came in my other (retail) optane drive. Works the same. No issues. I know it's a very niche product, but a few more inches on the cable length would have been better. Then, again, the nvme connectors on most motherboards are placed in spots where they're covered by add-in cards. Just be aware of that.

Working great for M.2 to U2
I connected this to a Syba 2.5" U2 mobile rack which needed the 3.5 to 5.25 converter. I used the DiLinKer M.2 to U.2 cable to connect to the M.2 slot on my motherboard. Now we have a easily removable M2 2280. Worth noting is that the mobile rack requires the SATA power for the M2 to work, for me this was a bonus as I can then use my KingWin 6 port SATA power switch to turn it on or off. With the help of Y power cables, I am going to put one set of drives on a single switch and other sets on different switches, thus making it easy to switch OS and configuration - Love It. I have not done an official test of the speed, but it seems very fast, just as fast as when the M.2 was on the motherboard.My only con for this solution is the pricing of the U2 backplanes and mobile carriers is high. I do not like using software base multi-boot.

Works if you need to adapt an M.2 slot for U.2
Functionality: absolutely works, zero issues there. If you have any U.2 drives and don't want or can't use a traditional PCIe slot then this is a solid choice. There are some quirks, continue reading.Will it fit under my motherboard SSD heatsink?: Your mileage may vary. Others have said it won't fit and that's more likely than not. In my case, I could, once I moved the cable wrap further down the wires, flattened them out, and removed any thermal pads underneath the heat spreader (see attached images).Quirks: make sure there are no tight bend radii throughout the cable's length for best performance. I used this connector for an Optane (RIP) drive and my 4KQ1 performance was 2/3rds the normal performance before I rerouted the cables to change the way they were arranged in my case. After that, everything was fine.Misc: these apparently use Amphenol connectors (legitimacy unknown) and this looks very similar to the Intel branded m.2 to u.2 adapter they would bundle for their drives. PCIe gen 4 speeds may not be fully reachable with this adapter (untested on my end)

Works well
Worked great to plug in my Intel P4510, freeing up a PCIe slot. Note that it doesnβt include the standoff screws- youβll need those from your motherboard or case.

Warning - thick cable may not be compatible with your M.2 Pcie slot.
Picked one of these up to add a U.2 drive to my X570 AMD system. Unfortunately the Taichi heat spreader plate did not allow this thick of a cable underneath the m.2 builtin heat spreader. This spreader was one piece for all m.2 devices, and since I have 2 other devices in the system, there was no way to skip using it.If the cable management was FLAT instead of round, it would have worked. Alas, I found a 25% cheaper PCIE 3.0 x4 card that enabled u.2 drives after I discovered this, and thus returned the cable.Given my experience here, I'd recommend the pcie card before the m.2 to u.2 converter. Just makes more sense!
