Great for extra security!!
I am very glad I went ahead and bought this lock. My back door is old and too thin for a traditional deadbolt lock and I felt it was not secure enough. I was worried I would not be able to install it myself but actually I did very well. It really wasn't hard. Just follow the instructions exactly.I got white so it would blend in with the door and it looks fine. I did have to use a chisel to carve out the molding that is on the wall around the door so the part that the goes on there would fit flush. My molding is not flat. I used a small chisel and went very slow and tried to be accurate.If you have flat molding, you probably would not have to do that.

Strong lock.
The lock is very durable and has a great polished finished look. Looks great on my all black front door.

This makes a great night latch
This is an affordably priced lock that makes a great night latch. I bought mine as a warehouse deal, and it came with what looks like someone's old destroyed keyed lock rather than a newish lock. Corkscrewed post, worn paint smear, key broken off in the lock. Someone should check these things when they come back. I just ordered it as a Jimmy-proof night latch, the lock would have been an extra to have on hand for a different door, so I'm not returning it.

A perfect replacement to the prior lock
Just as described. Seems to be well-made. Installed easily. The prior lock was quite old and no longer working properly.

Mid grade lock
This lock is light weight and not as durable or quality as Segal Locks. It works, but the question is how safe the lock actually is.

Irregular unless you have a gap in your door
Lock itself looks great, problem is the plate used to secure it to the wall needs to slip between the door and the wall. Unless you have a serious gap, or a wooden door you can cut, this product is not for you. I have a metal door. So I had to use an old part to secure this to the wall.

Yay! I replaced the horrible old lock on the entrance door to the hovel I'm renting. This *looked* like it was the right lock, and low and behold it fit! It is a nice enameled white which is easier to clean than the brass.Fast shipping.
