The tensioner only works with Quick Release axles !
Real bummer , but this tensioner will NOT work with thru axles. Only Q.R.THIS is NOT mentioned anywhere on Amazon website, it should be!!I'm returning mine, I'm sure they get a lot of returns for this very reason.On a positive note , this product has a good rating and is considered to be a good quality product.

Nice product, but has some tradeoffs
I bought this tensioner specifically because it has a 2 bolt design (the QR axle serves as the pivot, and the derailleur bolt serves as the lock).The nice thing about the 2 bolt design is that it's very secure and doesnt come loose once tightened.But this feature also comes with a couple of downsides. First, because the QR axle goes through it, you have to completely remove the QR if you need to change a tire, you cant just loosen it and pull the wheel off.Also, you now need to keep a multitool with you, because you can't just remove a wheel with the QR because the tensioner is bolted in with an Allen head.And finally, because the tensioner slides in a slot, the range of motion is limited. On my bike I could not get a full link (narrow and a wide section of chain) worth of adjustment. Which means on my bike I have to run a combination with an odd total number of teeth, i.e. 53:16, or 48:17. Which isnt too big of a deal, but it limits your options a bit.That said, I got it working, and riding the bike SS is great! It feels super efficient and it's nice taking a break from gears.

Easy fix
Awesome little product. Used it for a kiss mongoose that crapped out. Not a perfect fit or direct bolt on, but enough to get the kiddo riding again.

Good, well made product. But will not fit SURLY dropouts.
Well built, heavy duty construction and the spacers are great. Was hoping to save a few bucks but won't fit Surly horizontal dropouts. Oh well, Tuggnuts it is...

Great product
It's a great kit if you want to convert one of your old hardtails into a single speed or if you can't afford a new single speed bike. It's cheap, works great, and is easy to install and adjust. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a single speed conversion kit.

Just what I needed for conversion
As stated this is for 3/32 chains and chainrings. You may have issues with a 1/8. I converted multispeed bike to single speed and this was great. Chainline is perfect and the bike rides very smoothly.
