Unbelievable how coir expands!
I put 2 bricks in a 5 gallon bucket, add about 2 gallons of water and leave over night or out in the sun for several hours. After that, I break up the bricks as much as possible with a shovel or trowel and add more water, if needed. 2 bricks will fill the bucket about 3/4 full. Incredible how compacted the coir is! Much easier to carry a couple of these bricks to where they're needed than lugging heavy bags around! Really glad to have discovered these!

Junk
This is not (all) coco peat. We had trouble getting it to expand, so we started digging through the blocks and inside was miscellaneous grass clippings, bits of glitter, fabric fibers. There is no reasonable way to return this item because it is basically dirt and you have to wet it down before you find out it doesn’t work. Don’t waste your money.

3 bricks dissolved will almost fill a 5 gal bucket
1st time user. Put in my raised beds above the compost layer before garden soil. Expected more from the wetted bricks. Used all 6 in 2 5-gallon buckets. Same amount of water, dissolved 1 at a time. 1 bucket was watery compared to 2nd bucket, telling me that there was a large difference in amount of compaction per brick. Wouldn't use as top-dressed mulch due to them returning to powder when dry and it's a windy area.
