Best of all worlds
I am so excited to have found these! I like real candles the best, obviously, but after a few uses, real pillar candles get harder to light, and eventually either melt into unusable shapes or the wick burns down too low. Which is why I was delighted to discover battery-operated "moving flame" candles a few years ago. They look SO REAL. But I eventually got tired of keeping up with batteries. The batteries run out or corrode if I leave them in the candles---I was always replacing batteries. So I began to wonder if anyone made a rechargeable candle. I've spent many hours searching. Most rechargeable candles have a "flickering" flame that doesn't actually move, and so it doesn't look very realistic. These flames actually move, producing that realistic flame-like glow. Up close they won't fool anyone, but from even just a few feet away they look pretty real. I am beyond delighted to have found a candle that combines the best of all worlds--- real wax, realistic warm "flame", and rechargeable so you don't have to replace batteries. I'm also a fan of the remote control, which will turn all the candles on at once. I can't speak to the durability since I only opened these yesterday. But honestly, given the price, I anticipate replacing them far less often that I'd replace real candles of a similar size. Will probably buy several sets.8/27/24: I've been using the originals for months, and they work great! I get so many compliments on them. But I have to revise my review due the recent "upgrade" which means all these candles have weird colored lights deep inside them, which cannot be turned off. I was ready to fill my house with these, and bought several more sets--- but they don't match the originals. The wicks still move and look like flames, but the weird colored glow inside makes these look too tech. There is one color setting (yellow I think) that is not too unrealistic. Since I can't find any more candles that meet all my needs (moving flames, rechargeable, real wax) like these I'll probably keep them and just keep them on the yellow setting. But as I said, they don't match the originals (the originals only glow near the top where the flame is, they REALLY look real--- the "upgraded" candles have a 2nd light nearer the base of the candle) so I'll just display them separately. So disappointed they took a great, realistic looking candle and made it so "tech" appearing.

Malfunction
Quick update: changed from 1 star to 5. The candle that stopped working with the remote is now responding to the remote again, after being recharged and used manually several times. I am otherwise very please with these and the light they give. Long lasting on a single charge, too.I have been enjoying these, but three days after the window to return them closed, one of them has become non-responsive to the remote. It still turns on and still recharges, and therefore is still usable, but I have often used the remote to turn them on and it's a nice convenience. Now I guess I get to live with the two that I can still use that way.One other concern with these is that one cannot change the battery. Once this battery has recharged often enough, these will have to be disposed. The motion of the flame is minimal, it's a pulse of light, it gives a nice illusion of a flame, though does not actually have the illusion of moving like a real flame would, which I have seen in some of these candles.

Good as flameless candles, but with a few caveats
The media could not be loaded. This review is for both the more glass-looking candles and the one that look like full wax candles: I have both and the 'Write a Review' link for both keep taking me to this page. So this is a two-for-one review.I wish I could give three and a half stars. These candles work great as flameless candles, and I'm a big fan of the rechargeables because I have so many candles like this that I used to have huge chargers that could hold 40 batteries and it was a big hassle. Now, just recharge and you're good to go. So as flameless candles on display I like them, although I think the glass-looking ones look plasticky and not so much like glass, but my wife thinks they're beautiful. The ones that look like wax look very nice, and I use them in a TV stand as you can see in the pictures. They look great, add a lot of ambience to the room, and the remote works well. But it's this use case for which my criticisms of the cord and charging process really apply, because I wish I could leave them plugged in all the time; that would be the ultimate in convenience.Unfortunately, there are some bizarre issues with the recharging process. First, the candles come in sets of three, but the charger cable splits to four adapters which is nice, but the cord is not anywhere close to long enough to leave them plugged in all the time. Each adapter cable is only about 4 inches long with the whole cord being maybe two feet, and ends with a USB-A adapter, so you have to take the candles somewhere close to a USB plug or get a wall adapter (I got a thing that plugs into my outlets that also has USB ports). That's especially strange because the plug on the bottom of the candle is recessed, so when plugged in the candle doesn't tilt or wobble, as though they're *meant* to be plugged in, but the cord doesn't allow for them to be plugged in all the time and not worry about recharging, at least in my use case. But even if they were, it wouldn't work because when they *are* plugged in, there is a HUGE red light that lights up inside which is very noticeable and very distracting. A simple red LED wouldn't do this, it's like they went out of their way to put in some heavy-duty red light to say 'HEY! I'M RECHARGING!' It goes out when charged, but comes back on periodically as the charge goes down even when plugged in, so the red light comes off and on on different candles, and holy cow it is bright and big.Ultimately, when they are charged and on display, they look great and I recommend them. The 'flame' looks and moves realistically, my wife loves them, and we've received many compliments on them. I just wish they could be permanently plugged in.

Love Not Having to Change Batteries
I ordered 3 sets- a set of 3 and a set of 5 candles. The glass containers add a special touch to the candles. When not lit, no one is fooled that these are not true candles. When lit the flickering flame adds a soft light to dinners, bathroom, book shelf of collectibles. The remote is wonderful. The remote came with a battery with a plastic strip that needed to be removed. The battery was also upside down (don't know if that was intentional). Once I figured out the battery situation the candles have been used every night for 2 weeks.
