I read complaints in the reviews about the short, awkward feeling wire handles - and they were right, also right that the flick or flip action (I can't remember which term they used) of the swatter works. It does. I admit, I bought these when flies had somehow found their way in via a particular window and were crawling all over it, because the offer included "4 free window fly traps" and - wouldn't you know, the flies have totally avoided the widow traps, but the swatting has done it's job; and, now I know that a lot of other small bugs were crawling on the window, and they haven't avoided the window traps. So, close enough to 5 stars, for 5 stars.

Over the past several weeks we've had an inexplicable influx of house flies. They're inside the main house and on our glassed-in porch. Our old fly swatter wasn't effective at all, so I ordered this model. What...a...difference. I've been able to swat and kill nearly all of them on one swing, even on uneven, non-flat surfaces. And having two of the swatters has been very handy. We keep one on the porch and the other in the house. I'm starting to feel like Clint Eastwood in a western; every shot gets rid of the bad guys.

This is the fly swatter to end all fly swatters. It is nearly indestructible and lands with a satisfying “thwack” that quickly dispatches annoying buzzing houseflies and insects. The leather (or is it pleather?) is easily washed of bug goo. The box also contains a few strips of clear flypaper that’s almost unnoticeable on windows and is superior to those gross hanging strips. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.

These work very well. I decided to upgrade this time around after looking at my Amazon order history and realizing I have purchased fly, waters about three times over the past five years. The traditional wire and plastic ones don’t last. These are different – – sturdy, thick wire handle, and heavy duty, leather swatter. Time will tell whether these will last, but so far so good. I also appreciate that the additional weight of the leather provides a seemingly faster response time when swatting. Initially I didn’t like the shorter handle, but it works well. Great product!!

This fly swatter is a really nice replacement. It should last a long time too. The handle has pretty thick metal wire-like material. So it's stiff and it's not going to break, even if you step on it somehow. Also, the leather swatter part does not break like the plastic fly swatters. I had a plastic one that broke into pieces more and more as I used it. I finally threw it away and found this one. The only issue, and why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is because it is shorter than the fly swatters I am used to buying. This issue causes misses when swatting and comes up short sometimes. I will have to get more used to it being shorter. It also means that I have to lean in closer to a fly and I end up scaring it away more easily sometimes. All in all though, pretty good.

Very nice and very heavy-duty fly-swatters. Thick leather with a few holes does the trick. And the handle is heavy/thick gage wire. It works great.I haven’t opened the sticky fly trap yet. These should be the last fly swatters I buy!

Great quality and the holes are small so it gets the fruit flies and gnats. They just laughed when I use the old flyswatter with larger spaces/holes. Now I'm in charge! I think it's going to last for years.

Great price for an incredibly sturdy fly swatter. I break plastic ones all the time. I will have these for as long as I want them, it seems -- and the cost includes two fly swatters, which is great.
