Switched from Shield TV to MECOOL TV
I am using this MECOOL Android TV Box for a few weeks now and mostly, I love it. I used to have the Nvidia Shield TV 2015, 2017 and 2019. Nvidia seems to have abandoned their product and in addition I had issues with the outdated Shield TV and because of the non-existence support I decided to move on. The new Roku Ultra is still a terrible product and then I found this MECOOL TV Box. I am using a HDMI switch, one line to the TV (HDMI 2.1) and the other to the receiver (HDMI 1.4) for better sound and it worked just wonderful right out of the box. Since this is based on the Android operating system the home screen looks similar to the Nvidia Shield TV, which I like. The MECOOL Box is fast, the only thing I am missing from the Shield TV is not being able to close the background apps. On the Shield TV you just double click the home/menu button in order to see and close the apps running in the background. Unfortunately, there is no such function here. I also like the remote, it is lightweight and works like a charm and I was able to integrate this remote into my Logitech Harmony Elite Remote. I was very positively surprised the MECOOL was listed in Harmony’s database. Hopefully MECOOL will improve and support this little streamer and provide software updates.

Really great streaming box
I purchased this to update from a Nvidia Shield. It’s far superior to the Shield mostly because Nvidia has not updated the product since 2019—the biggest plus for the Mecool box is the 1 gig Ethernet port(WiFi also available). I tweaked the box by allowing developer options on the box—-installed all apps I use and it really works well——loads fast—HDR/4K picture with Dolby audio(I have a surround sound system)—-picture and audio are excellent—there are plenty of videos on YouTube to help you set it up. I’m really happy with it. Highly recommend

Haven't found a perfect streaming box yet. This one is pretty good.
I bought this to replace an Apple TV box I had been using for a couple of years. The Apple TV kept wanting me to verify my account, and since I have an Android phone this meant I had to keep entering my password, which after a while got annoying. I should also note that I had a Shield Pro before the Apple TV box but had problems on that box too- some HDR movies displayed the wrong colorspace and looked strange, also some apps on the Shield didn't run very well (in particular Paramount Plus, Prime, and Vudu had issues).I researched various Android TV boxes and picked this one for a few reasons: a. Reasonably good word of mouth on Reddit. b. Good specs. c. RJ45 port and 2 USB ports. d. Netflix certified, which a lot of these boxes aren't.This is a pretty good box and I'm going to stick with it for a while but it's not perfect. The good:1. Device is very snappy and videos load almost instantly, at least via my hard wired ethernet connection.2. Playback of 1080p and above is very crisp looking, possibly better than the Apple TV was.3. Installing apps is a breeze and they seem to work better than on the Shield. Channels DVR (my preferred over the air DVR software) is more responsive than on the Shield. The mixed:1. This device does a surprising amount of pre- processing on the image before even sending it to the TV. I had to turn down contrast, color, and sharpness to make the picture look like I was used to with the Apple TV. I personally like a bit of sharpness in the image, but if you are one of those people who always turns sharpness all the way down, you might not like the amount of processing here. If you have a TV without a lot of bells and whistles this box might actually make video look a little better than you are used to.2. 720p and below looks "grainy". This is probably more of a natural look than what I was getting out of the Apple TV. Took some getting used to but I don't think it's bad.The bad:1. Video will sometimes start stuttering. I have noticed this in particular when H265 playback. Restarting the box fixes it.2. No frame matching. This box does a pretty good job of smooth playback at 60fps, but the option to use frame matching would be nice.3. I have had the box lock up a few times when waking up out of sleep mode. It unlocks itself after several seconds. I am experimenting with having it power off instead of go to sleep, but am not sure if this is helping yet.

No lo recomiendo
Muy sobrevalorado, suele congelarse y se reinicia muy frecuentemente, hay mejores productos a menor precio

Powerful features packed in such a little thing!!!
This android tv box exceeded my expectations by a long mile. This thing is packed with all the latest features Dolby Vision/HDR10+, HDR10, HLG to Dolby Atoms. It also 100% supports the latest video codec like AV1. This box easily can replace AppleTV and Firestick. The only thing i wished they had was a black version of this device. The pure white just stands out from your entertainment center, which could be an eyesore for some as you rarely see electronics coming in such color. I do however like the white on the remote as it makes it very easy find. Overall, KM2 Plus is a must buy in my book.
