If you are considering purchasing this product, please read the entire review.The unit works great, minimal lag, plain and simple. The design is great and the value for what you get is even better. The unit seems like it will last however only time will tell. Installation took me less than 10 minutes and it fit in the car with no issue.Some people are complaining about picture, quality, and sound. Starting with the picture quality you need to understand that the head units for these vehicle vehicles listed above were not designed to have Apple CarPlay. That is why you were purchasing this product so obviously the quality is not going to be good but that’s not the product’s fault. It is your head units issue.For the sound, I would suggest going into the main head unit audio settings, and zeroing everything out, then proceed back into the audio settings from the CarPlay unit and make your adjustments through there. You have to have a little bit of audio knowledge to achieve good sound however it’s pretty easy to just turn some music on and make some adjustments until you’re happy with it. In my honest opinion, the sound quality is significantly better over the standard head unit once you get it dialed in.

Never opened up my car to disconnect and connect cables but it went fairly smoothly. Just wish they gave tools — I had to get a flat head screw driver to remove the dashboard, and had to run to the store to get a ratchet set (10mm socket). Works great in my Corolla 2016 LE. Found a video on YouTube that was specific to my car and better than the one from the company. Got a blue screen after pressing Aux, so had to turn the car off and back on, and then it worked! Also changed the display settings to “Corolla” to fix the left shift of the display.

Yes, the adapter works on my 2019 Highlander. Installation was easy, just plug and play, but the problems started after.1. The adapter blue tooth conflicted with the car's one. Toyota software is not the fastest one, but the one on adapter is even slower, so the Toyota's software connects faster to my iPhone and works fine, but then the adapter's one connects and causes the conflicts. I tried to disconnect from the car's bluetooth, but failed.2. Audio quality through the adapter is poor, much worse than through Toyota's software.3. After a couple of days of usage back up camera stopped working through the car software and worked only though the adapter's carplay.4. After disconnecting the adapter, the camera did not get up to original manufacturer's settings and did not turn on when the shifter was on rear gear. I spent a couple of hours on figuring out of how to get back it to normal.The solution was to disconnect the battery cables short connect them with each other, then disconnect and leave the car unplugged to a battery for a couple of minutes - full reset of all the electronics.5. Also, my remote alarm/car door opener stopped working, looks like the adapter interferes with the signal.I returned the adapter.No, I do not recommend this adapter, too risky to use it, who knows how it behaves on a highway.

The connection is stable, and both CarPlay and Android Auto run smoothly without lag. It instantly upgraded my 2017 vehicle with modern features, and now driving is much more convenient and enjoyable. Highly recommend this retrofit kit for anyone with a compatible Toyota!

I bought this so that I could use Apple CarPlay in my 2015 Tacoma. This seem like the most logical solution as it was cost-effective and didn’t involve ripping out the current unit and changing the console. I was a little apprehensive because I was worried whether I would be able to install it myself or not. It was a lot easier than I thought and I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to install this with a little effort. The most effort was learning how to remove the bezel Around the screen in my Tacoma. Depending on what car you have I would recommend first looking on YouTube for good videos that explain how to remove the bezel and the existing unit, and then open the video with the QR code that you can find in the product manual that tells you how to undo the connectors and Plug them into the cable harness that comes with the unit.Getting your current unit out is half the battle, but the product itself is amazingly straightforward and plugging the cable harness bypasses in is really easy. Just make sure that all your connectors are in firm before you put everything back together and the set up after that is a snap.I have Apple CarPlay and couldn’t be happier. It does what I needed to do, the only downside is the resolution but that’s not a problem with this product it’s the original resolution of the screen in my system that’s almost 10 years old now. CarPlay cell still works fine and I’m able to do everything through it that I could on a newer car.This little unit Exceeded my expectations and I was kind of skeptical when I bought it I would definitely recommend it to others that were in the same situation I was, which is wanting CarPlay as an upgrade to their current system. Couldn’t believe that I was actually listening to Spotify, so ICouldn’t believe that I was actually listening to Spotify, so I said in the driver seat sat in the driver seat for about 20 minutes listening to it!

It works as described. The screen is a little grainy.The audio isn't as loud and clear.I am not able to use the android navigation and listen to local radio stations at the same time.But overall, not a bad product and it allows the user to toggle between the factory system and android auto.
