Q: For stealth purposes, is IR light visible to others?

The IR light shining on objects is not visible, but if one looks directly at the IR light source on the unit, it glows red and is visible. With this unit it is not intended to use against one's eye, and the white light coming out of it is incredibly bright, negating any use for covert surveillance of people, or hiding one's face from nearby animals. In my opinion, this is not good for people wanting to observe others in darkness as the viewer lights up one's face. It will also illuminate you if you want to eliminate rats and pests around animal coops, in barns, etc. Excellent for long distance, easy to use, compact, nice that it uses rechargeable AA batteries that can be purchased anywhere, easy focus front lens that does not require micro focusing (it turns a lot so each millimeter of movement does not take you in, or out of focus). Bad is no lens cap, small viewing screen that must be held away from face.

Q: Would the night vision monocular mount to a helmet mount?

No.The night vision scope can only be installed on the tripod for viewing, and there is a threaded interface at the bottom.

Q: How long do the batteries last?

Dear customer, Thank for your inquiry. With the infrared light on, night vision monocular can record video last for 2 hours. If without the infrared light on, the power will be saved a lot and the video can be recorded for at least 4 hours.
